Makhmudov was Hittable and Wach was able to pick shots, body shots and uppercuts which is pretty rare for him. So Makhmudov was not showing an active enough defence or feints, however when Makhmudov starting timing Wach before 6, he offered a few lovely counter hands and uppercuts in the 5th and showed how brutal his power in his 6th. You have to say to say that if the ref had makh jump on him wach would have been a slump on the floor for the 1st time in his career. The power is real!!! He just needs to be a little proactive all round.
Makhman has power to spare, and is pretty durable. Which on its own could be enough to beat anyone in the division. But his skill probably means he won't. Still, those 2 key attributes can win you a belt in almost any era and definitely in this one.
Makhmudov's biggest problem is that he'll be avoided by all the heavyweight contenders. I'd love to see him fight Ruiz, Ortiz, Parker, Wilder, Whyte or Joshua. I think he might be strong enough to dominate even Tyson Fury. However, his promoter has two other heavyweights we may see him in against: Simon Kean and Vladislav Sirenko. Also, Helenius, Wallin and Takam are possible opponents, those heavyweights have never avoided anyone.
not one top heavy is speaking this mans name none i will be awaiting the first fury should take him as a tune up or wilder face him as a comeback lol
him and brook both with thier sixth round stoppages made me smile all day long nice dinner out on them today
I like him but people are really overhyping him. He hasn't fought anyone who can challenge him and he looks slow and hittable. I'd like to see him against Ajagba.
He just needs step up fights. He has some real power. I hope he is not avoided like Hrgovic and has his career sidelined as a result. He's exciting and I want to see more.
Makhmudov offers attractive fights that are a pleasure to watch, I would love to see him against a slightly better opponent so we can assess what Makhmudov really is, Simon Kean is not a real challenge but Wallin or Helenius would be a real test for him, I wonder how far he can go in his career...
Makh has no defence. He's basically a big man who's easy to hit and has a lot of KO power. Against anyone of any value he's get UD'd easily.
Aside from the clubbing power that ended it in the 6th I was not impressed with Mak. It could be he had no respect for Wach's punching and thought he could walk through them but he was eating a boatload especially in the 4th. A fresher and bigger puncher would have had him in trouble.
