Just Watched Mayweather-Maidana Again

    Decided to watch again and score it objectively. I don't think overall it's a hard fight to score but every round is competitive.

    Round 1 Maidana
    Chino very aggressive landed the harder shots

    Round 2 Mayweather
    Floyd boxed well kept Chino out of range

    Round 3 Even
    This one could go either way

    Round 4 Maidana
    Chino gets rough , cuts Floyd with head butt, Floyd goes on defense

    Round 5 Maidana
    Floyd still reacting to cut, Maidana takes advantage

    Round 6 Mayweather
    Close round but Floyd did the better work

    So at the half I got it 4-2 Maidana at best or 3-3 even....

    Round 7 Mayweather
    Floyd doing good work

    Round 8 Even
    This is the closest round of the fight to me, leaning toward Mayweather though

    Round 9 Mayweather
    Maidana getting sloppy now, bullying but not landing nothing

    Round 10 Mayweather
    Floyd dominant most of this round, Chino still fighting in spurts but not effective in themiddle of the ring.

    Round 11 Mayweather
    Floyd just landing the better shots, Maidana resorting to tackling and pushing against the ropes but still not landing

    Round 12 Mayweather
    Floyd won the first half and then defended the rest of the way, Chino still can't land clean

    So overall close fight but after the 6th round Floyd pretty much took over. The best I can see it is 8-4 Mayweather, the worse, 6 - 4 -2 even. Objectively Mayweather wins a clear 6 rounds, Maidana a clear 4, if Maidana gets the 2 even rounds the best he gets in my view is a draw. As far as a rematch is concerned I don't think it's necessary. Maidana faded in the second half of the fight, that tells me all I need to know about a rematch.

    I think watching it live in the heat of the moment many of us gave Maidana too much credit.

    Maidana won every round before stopping fraud in the fifth,I agree with the OP theres no need for a rematch, Maidana already proved hes superior to Fraud in every department.

    I had draw.

    Its very hard to give any of the last 2 rounds to Mayweather, espcially the last round. he held the whole time.

    it's not really good to re watch a fight anyways because your gonna give the swing rounds to the fighter u thought won

    Theres NO WAY IN HELL MAYWEATHER WON 6 ROUNDS IN A ROW!! :patsch:patsch

    Come on dude. Maidana clearly won round 8 easy, and 11-12 are very close. like i said before, u cant give mayweather the 12th when he justy held the whole time. hard to give him 11th too. that right there makes your score card 115-113 or a draw. now u see how close the fight was

    The eleventh is a clear round for Floyd imo, the only thing Chino lands is a tackle!

    Just rewatched the 8th round. Besides the first 30 seconds where Maidana has Floyd on the ropes he does nothing (except for a low blow). Floyd doesn't land anything big but based on ring generalship he takes the round.

    Ok, you have it 8-4 but you scored rounds 3 and 8 for Mayweather. You admitted that round 3 could have went either way and round 8 was the closest round of the fight. How could you seriously have a problem with a scorecard that read 6 round to 6 (114-114)? No rematch? Why? Just because Mayweather won more rounds in the 2nd half of the fight? I had the fight even. Mayweather will probably win a rematch if it happens but Maidana does deserve one.

    Who do you think Mayweather should fight next? ...besides Pacquiao.

    Floyd as you can probably tell, likes to fight current champions,, can Manny stop hiding behind his promoter for one fight? Who wants Marquez yet again, Pac or his promoter?
