Just Watched Mayweather-Maidana Again

You can make a Great case that maidana didn't win a round past the 5th!!!

Floyd fought poor against a guy who was barely in the top ten of the division.

Floyd and Maidana BOTH fought dirty.

Floyd outboxed Maidana when he was allowed to box. The problem was Floyd was covering up on the ropes much of the fight. He gave away a lot of rounds by being inactive. I found it hard to give Floyd some rounds just because he didn't do much. I mean Maidana wasn't outboxing or landing anything impressive but he was working and Floyd was covering up looking to pot shot.

It could have been a Draw or one point either way. I didn't see the blowout that others did. I don't want to see it again. I think Floyd underestimated him. That wont happen again. Cheers to Chino for a great effort. He never had a chance to get a fair decision in Vegas.

 

The general conscensus is that Maidana was damn close to pulling off a draw.

 

After six rounds, I had the fight 4-2 for Maidana. Floyd to me won five straight rounds after that(though not in any super-definitive fashion), then took off the twelve, which I gave to Maidana, giving Floyd a 115-113 win. You could make a case for Maidana maybe taking the two early rounds I gave Floyd, but I think Floyd did enough clean punching over Maidana's volume to win those rounds. So Maidana gave it a good try(aided by Floyd fighting stupidly early), but Floyd eeked it out for me.

 

Watching this fight live made it appear a lot more exciting than it really was. Re watching it made me realize it was a sloppy fight with maidana chasing him around the ring 60% of the time and bullying him, Floyd throwing one punch at a time and holding. Not sure why I thought this was an exciting fight.

 

well then the 12 has to be Chino's. theres no way Mayweather won both the last 2 rounds

 

Every judge and alomst everybody scoring scored that round for Maidana, u best watch it again. hard to give a round to Mayweather when he lands only like 8-10 punches

 

Fight night I had Maidana by 1 round
Next weekend and second time a draw
Then 3rd time I only watched Floyd....gave him the nod by 1 rd

I think it was only due to the aggression from Maidana and that Floyd was not prepared for this type of no RESPECT:rofl
