It's a terrible fight.

It's like one of those fights to hype a guy before a big fight in the Autumn/Fall.

 

You meant against Cleverly ? Again, he took that fight ona three days notice as he was a late subtitute for Braehmer. He wasn't a full time pro at the time.
Now he trains with Abel Sanchez, and for what it worths he is in rated as a top 10 in most of the rankings.
I'm not saying he hasa good shot beating Kovalev but right now he is not inferior to fighter such as Shumenov, Murat, Bellew or Sillakh imo.

He won't see the 5th round. He will be a summer break for Kovalev. If they can arrange an Adonis fight for the end of the year I'm fine with it though.

Exactly. The Cleverly fight was more than 4 years ago. Mohammedi is actually a live dog in this fight, in my opinion.

This fight was a trap. Mohammedi was sent there to be executed, his hotel room was unhealthy for example. His trainer at the time, Samuel Florimond, rightfully stopped the fight to preserve him. That said, Mohammedi probably hasn't the best chin in the world. Some great fighters were stopped before winning a world title. Rafael Marquez comes to mind.

 

Pascal isn't exactly a tomato can nor a bum to be referred to in that way. Sure SRR mops the floor with him in terms of ability, but he also does mop the floor with Kovalev and almost everyone in Boxing today.

Mohammedi is a tune-up and stay-active fight. Kovalev deserves it after the tough fights he had. At least he's taking tune-ups between tough fights. Golovkin on the other hand, is taking tune-ups between tune-ups.
