Just watched Mohammedi, Kovaleve's next opponent...

Like some of us have been saying, his losses were 4-5 years ago. You ignore his 13 wins since then that have made him the no. 1 mandatory. He trains with Abel Sanchez now, has a crowd pleasing style, and is a much improved fighter.

Stevenson is his pbc lhw jewel. Would really be surprised if the fight happened. Hopefully I'm wrong.

 

He has improved a little bit since that fight but still is a just stay busy pad record kind of fight.

 

Difference is BHop and Pascal WANTED to fight Kovalev. Cotto, Alverez, Quillin, JCCJR, etc don''t want to fight Triple G.

 

I saw his last fight, he's going to get smoked.

Mohammedi doesn't belong in a ring with Kovalev period. This is the down-side of mandatory challengers.

 

I remember that fight and he gave Cleverly a very hard nights work indeed. S****py boxer spoiler. If he has improved he could make things messy but in all honesty the class of Kovalev should make this a very one sided fight in his favour.

I don't think Kovalev struggles with those spoiller types too much.

 

Kovalev wants to stay busy, and keep his title, what's the problem? he just faced two highly rated opponents in back to back fights, not every fight can be against a great opponent.

 

Detractors you know, can never please them. I mean how dare he face a mandatory challenger to keep his belt after two hard fights, before taking on Stevenson in Autumn.

Mohammedi actually does many things better than Pascal (obviously "punching hard" not among them) but is a lower tier fighter. We all get. This is what it is - getting a mando out of the way. Mohammedi is gonna get smashed but he has earned the right.

 

I feel bad that this fight is going to happen...poor guy "earned" it but he's gonna get hurt in there.

 

Nadjib will be fine. He'll be the toast of Bouches-du-Rhône with all that HBO money, and he can tell his grandkids he climbed into the ring with the Krusher.

 

Whoever thinks this guy is a live dog, needs to understand there are levels in boxing. Hopkins at 50 is still world, pascal is still a work level opponent. This guy will get caparello'd

 

If nadjib survives past 4 I'll be surprised. Sergey KRUSHER kovalev just destroyed jean pascal like no one has before.
