Cotto had just taken a monster left hand and was backed up against the ropes after taking a massive beating throughout the fight. And there was still alot of time left in the round.

Even if Bayless doesn't stop it, Cotto doesn't make it to the end.

I love what Roach said to Manny after the end of the 11th

"MANNY, PLEASE KNOCK THIS SON OF A ***** OUT"

True to form Manny did what Roach asked him

Cotto looked pretty damn good running like that for a guy on the brink of death. Lets face it, he had better legs at that point in his last moments than Oscar did his whole fight with Pac.

Cotto was definately on his way to losing the fight. According to Duane Ford and Dave Morreti's Official scorecards Cotto won the 10th round; not bad for a guy on the brink of death as some of you are making it out to be.

I was there live and the stopagge was BS as Cotto could have continued and at the point of the stoppage it was not a point where Cotto was "out on his feet" or unable to defend himself. So from that vantage point it was BS.

For Cotto's sake that was fine. Still want to see him fight. The last 3 rds was his chance to make a difference. There was none.

Kenny bayless is one of my fav refs next to steve smoger, because they give u a chance to try and comeback,i'm sick of these refs that stop fights from little bitty cuts and if a guy gets stunned they step right in and waive it off.I agree cotto's corner should have stopped the fight earlier, but i respect cotto for telling them he wanted to fight on.

I don't know what round is this but looking at this pic, I want to stop the fight right there.

Joe Santiago could have stopped the fight.

Cotto was getting battered all over the place. The fight should have been stopped much earlier and a more experienced corner would have done that.

As for the 12th, Cotto would not have lasted the round. At least the ref Let the guy finish on his feet.

I respect what Oscar did. He knew he couldn't beat Pac so he quit on his stool with his dignity and health intact.

What's dignified about carrying on and maybe being KO'd and having your dribbling contorted face all over the newspapers the next day.

The ref knew he had to stop it after round 10, he was just waiting for Cotto to take a little too much punishment. I found watching Cotto get brutalised like that really painfull to watch, it was brutal to see a warrior with such a huge heart get beaten to a pulp. His corner should have thrown in the towel. Live to fight another day. If this was a life or death fight then fair enough let him finish but this is a sport after all.

Exactly. Oscar de la Hoya has behaved like a **** since he was outclassed by Pacquiao. He couldn't handle being beaten by a small humble asian man.
