  1. What a ****ing great fight. I would love to see some fights like that nowadays in the Heavyweight division.

    Yeah tremendous fight.

Brewster had a detached retina from round 1.I thought Liakhovich was done after he got knocked down.

    Great back and forth action.

One of the best Heavyweight title fights I ever seen. Great back and forth action. After this fight neither man would ever be the same. How Brewster was able to stay on his feet against the ropes, I will never know. After taking a vicious blow behind the head, which rocked him.

Both gave their best and neither man was ever the same again. That was the kind of war that cuts short careers; neither man has looked like even a shadow of their former self after that bout. For once, Serguei looked like a real wolf and fought with animalistic courage to pull it through against Brewster. At the time, Brewster was almost universally regarded as one of the top 3 heavyweights in the sport.

Not the best fighters but extremely evenly matched with a great meshing of styles. You could almost hear the years being knocked off their careers, especially live. Never heard punches boom like that, even with a crazy loud crowd there. Not sure why they haven't had a major boxing event in Cleveland since; the place was full, or close to it, and the crowd was INTO it.

Even today, a rematch would interest me. Niether man is doing anything, so why not bring a little enertainment to a lackluster heavyweight division?

id watch a rematch for sure 2. but isnt brewster due for a beating in facing helenius as his next opponent?

  10. Lamon Brewster was an exciting Heavyweight and I am very surprised he returned after his the detatched retina. I totally agree Little Pea about being the last great HW fight

  11. I was surprised that a rematch never came about. It was a close back and fourth war. There was a nice crowd and the buzz on the aftermath was incredible. It would've done good business and got even more viewers

This true. I'm hopping Brewster can pull out a victory, though it will be a tough fight for him.

Yeah, it would of done big numbers. Though Brewsters trainer Buddy McGuirt said afterward in an interview, that he will never sit back and watch his fighter in a war of this caliber, he has a family.
