Just watched the Joe Louis Documentary on HBO..

    ...and even though I knew a fair amount about Louis before watching this special, I thought the documentary was very good....but VERY SAD.

    It is worth taking a peak at.

    I saw the second half, will have to watch the whole thing. But pretty much stuff I knew already.

    Having said that it is a good watch, especially for younger people that really don't know anything more, than they heard Louis is the best heavyweight ever.

    It gives a great insight into a man of great character, and a time in America when things were different.

    Joe Louis Barrow is a national treasure and icon, who should have been treated better.

    Great documentary, my grandmother used to tell me stories about Joe Louis as a child.

    I'm going to make a dvd of this documentary for my mom. She was a huge Louis fan.

    I would have loved to see a MYTHICAL MATCHUP of Louis-Toney at
    200 LBS.

    Yeah I know Louis slaughters him....BLAH BLAH BLAH

    I think it would be an interesting matchup.
