What a powerful and emotional documentary. I had no idea about the things that Johnny went through and it's remarkable how he still made an amazing boxing career that will get him to the HoF. His story is movie worthy if ever they decide to make a biographic movie on a well known boxer. Rest in Peace Johnny.
As did I it really touched me. Um have a question or theory I'd like to get some input on. Without trying to be disrespectful to Johnny Tapia or his family I am still very curious. His mom loved to go "dancing" on weekends. The gentleman he thought was his father was not. And his mother was stabbed to death after a night of "dancing." Without trying to be disrespectful, it knida sounds like she was a prostitute. Does anyone know if she had any priors for this? Or if it has been rumored? Now I'm just curious. It's something that's in my head and I could be completely wrong about this, but the thought keeps nagging at me...
I'll pass. I hate sad stories. Especially self-destructive stories where the main character is short on brain power.
