That was a perfect send off, you could tell he was tearing up a bit, made me a little too. I wish other fighters would go out like that, make official retirement videos, or what not. Especially Winky Wright and Shane. I wake up on a sunday, and just see threads saying they both retired. They need a proper send off. When Cotto leaves the game, I will have a heavy heart, Mayweather, Pac, Zab, all those fellas. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON BHOP. Roy......meh.
Glen was a journeyman to the bone. Ain't give a ****, just fought anybody and everybody. He did whine about robbery a bit too often, but past that, no complaints about the guy. Glad to see him go tho. He was at the point where he wasn't even a solid gatekeeper anymore. I just wish he woulda gotten the decision over Cloud so he coulda closed out with 1 more title.
Quoted after the knockout of RJJ saying " I'm not the best, but I'll fight the best..." Which tells you everything you need to know about this mans heart.
One of the best quotes of all time ! Enjoy your retirement Glen you left it all in the ring and made the sport a better place !
Never understood why people get so emotional. There's never a shortage of action in boxing. There will always be big fights. When fighters leave they leave for a good reason and that keeps me at ease. If some of my favorite fighters retired today it would suck but I know they'll be happy spending the rest of their life with their family. No sweat off my back at all. Johnson is a good man. Will never forget him knocking out Roy Jones. At the time I predicted it to be Jones' bounce back fight where he was going to look impressive after the loss against Tarver. I was wrong and I'm glad I was because I was rooting for Johnson all the way.
I hope the Road Warrior has put enough $$$away that he can lead a comfortable life. Lord knows he deserves it.
