I saw the fight live so I decided to relive it by watching the Showtime All Access Epilogue episode. It included the main highlights of the fight. Trout had Cotto hurt at times. Not only with head shots but to the body as well. Cotto even turns his back on Trout at one point. Cotto seemed to fade late in the fight.

I'm convinced Martinez is going to give Cotto a beat down. Martinez himself said his injuries are healed. That speed and power combination is going to be hell for bloated, soft, slow, and no pop in his punches Cotto.

I agree 100%, I think if I'm not mistaken Trout sparred with Sergio prior to that fight..

Cotto should have taken bigger money fighting Canelo, and leaving Sergio to GGG for a passing of the torch fight. He's clearly at the twilight of his career and he should not be ducking any comers. He should go out on his shield.

Cotto has balls fighting Sergio. He is way over his head. He is too limited a fighter and will come at martinez in straight lines and get wrecked. Martinez has real power and he will break Cotto again. IMO cotto would have lost against margarito if pacquiao hadn't effectively ended his career with the eye injury. Cotto hasn't looked good in a long time. I hope he does not get seriously hurt because Martinez is savage and cotto isn't the best at taking a punch.

Even floyd had him on ***** Street and Floyd has not seriously hurt anyone in a long time.

    styles favor martinez.

cotto's left hook is directly opposite sergio'\s lead hand. he will have a hard time landin gthat hook.

all the while he will be eating left straight from sergio, if he is anything close to the one who fought chavez.

you need a straight right against southpaws, and cotto's right is weak, esp if you consider the size difference.

his best chance is to keep sergio moving. keep putting pressure on those legs, keep him moving, turning him around, which put onto qustion cotto's own stamina issues.

A well timed left hook is the perfect punch to neutralise a southpaws left hand. If cotto can land that early in the fight get Sergio hesitant could be in with a shout. But I think Sergio is just to big to much speed and power

Nonito's left hook was not against Rigo.

Martinez had called out the lighter fighters and for some reason has ignored GGG !!!

Before you count Cotto completely out...keep in mind he fared well against a heavier opponent in Mayorga and Delvin.
Though obviously not the same level he did KO them.

Trout was a bad stylistic match up in which Cotto was not mentally in that caused him to part ways with Pedro.

Cotto is not a new fighter but the Old confident body savaging Cotto!

His jab and body shots will disrupt Martinez slowing him down.
Cotto by dec or late round TKO!!!

Respectfully, I keep hearing Cotto fans say this after every one of his arse kickings. You also have to got back the Judah fight to find a world class opponent that Cotto slowed down with body shots.

What is this actually based on other than wishful thinking?

I just rewatched the fight as well and Trout didn't muscle Cotto. It was actually a close fight.

Yuri Foreman went down and I believe Sergio will as well...who is simply a glorified version of Yuri Foreman!!!

im not going to completely deny cotto of a chance, he was there with the best. but, it's a dangerous proposition, countering that left, with that speed and power.

    completely diff fighter.

it's hard to land left hook against a retreating southpaw, any stance for that matter.

    Good take:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

One point in Cotto's favor you forgot though.....Miguel does not rely solely on his L hook when going to the body.
His R cross as part of a 1-2 or as a lead straight R hand to the solar plexus is another of his great arsenal.
Yeah, he has stamina issues, but he's also go more power than given credit for. Sergio himself is known to fade late in fights, and coming off a near loss and so many wars.......and his legs are going?????

Everything tells us that Sergio should KO Cotto......but my heart is telling me Cotto's gonna shake up the world.:shock::shock:

    OMG:patsch:patsch:patsch

I don't dislike Sergio, but all his homos3xual fanboys turn me off......that said.....Yuri Foreman in the same sentence is like putting Konecny in the same breathe as Golovkin.:nono:nono:nono
