Quality fight. Classic performance from Holyfield and credit to Tyson he fought a good fight.

Mike was gone at the end of round 10.

Easier saying this but Tyson's corner shouldn't have let him out for the 11th round.

    Anyone agree?

Holyfield did a very good job of exploiting both the physical and psychological advantages of being the one to finish an exchange. It happened constantly, with Holyfield typically hitting Tyson with a hook as he stepped out. Tyson was used to getting in the last word. It took a toll.

Not really. He was pretty much gone and the end was inevitable but had he been retired, it would have been inconclusive. Evander had fought well enough to have earned the right to a conclusive victory and Mike had fought bravely enough for the right to have a 60 second break and go out on his shield. If he'd stayed on his stool, all those who claim he had no heart would have had a field day and all the punishment he had taken to that point would have been for nothing.

I see your point. It must be horrible to send a man to a certain beating and it takes a special kind of courage to go out and take it. And for the most part, Tyson showed that kind of courage in defeat during his career even if he couldn't reverse the outcomes in fights when he was trailing. He played his part in a great encounter. I have never been either as stunned or as pleased by a result in boxing and that includes the Douglas fight.

That's very true, good point. If he retired on the stool his critics would have had a field day.

If it wasn't Tyson and just a regular challenger and he was not champion, it would have been 'accepted.'
