Beebs - Depends on what styles of fighting that you prefer. I don't like wrestling, though I don't mind some of the best wrestling based MMA fighters if they are solid at other elements, like Henderson, or even better, Urijah Faber, one of my favourite's to watch. People are like this with boxers. Does anybody like watching Spinks? A lay and pray match is a lay and pray match, ****ing awful. Submission grappling is highly entertaining though, people need to get more in tune with it so they can enjoy it.
I watch it sometimes only because nothing else is on....It's hit or miss sometimes good sometimes bad...their doesnt seem to be as much depth or skill as their is in boxing.....Usually in MMA the fighters can usually only do ONE thing well whether its submission moves, or punching...it's rare to find someone who does everything well
You enthusiastically said you'd watch MMA with no wrestling or holding, which is the same as kickboxing. Yet when I suggest it you try to belittle me? :huh
If you do not like MMA do not watch it. If it bores you then stick to watching boxing. I love boxing but have also got into MMA over the last year and can point you to many good and bad fights from both sports. The biggest fight anounced for this year so far is between one of the most boring and negative fighters alive in Hopkins and a guy with out an heavey punch who wears people down which on the surface looks like a bore fest but if you love boxing waching these two guys walk round for 12 rounds is compulsive viewing.
This was an awful card. Don't judge all of MMA by what you saw last night. There wasn't even any 'elite' fighters on it.
