If you want to be a great fighter, you go to certain types of schools, if you want to be the best kickboxer in the world you are going to have to at least cross train extensively in muay thai, thats just the way it is. Muay Thai produces the best kickboxers on earth, that makes it better than anything else for kickboxing. You're basically saying taking karate is just as good as taking boxing to become a boxing champion.
