Bute didn't look average beating Bika. Yes, he lost 3 rounds (the 3 first), but then he found his distance and toyed with Bika for the rest of the fight. If anything, he showed great adaptability. And remember that was in 2007 for the IBF title eliminator. He's learned a lot since then. Ward, on the other hand, lost 4 rounds (I had it 116-112, the 120-108 card was an absolute disgrace), and all those rounds were pretty close. And why the **** did SOG fight Bika on the inside, if he's so versatile? That doesn't make any sense. He would get DQ'd for pulling all that **** anywhere outside Oakland, too.
Kessler got outboxed, plain and simple. Headbutts were accidental. And what did Ward do that was dirty against Green? And now all of a sudden Bika is a clean fighter? He used the same dirty tactics to open up a cut on Calzaghe too.
You're a ****in idiot if you actually believe Kessler had any chance in that fight, despite the ACCIDENTAL headbutts. He was completely dominated. Ward proved that any kind of movement made Kessler look like a Danish robot. Againt Kessler gets the **** beat out of him every time he steps up, even in his alleged "win" against Froch.
Ward beat Kessler. But the way he beat him he fought dirty. And i'm not the only one that says it. Ward fought dirty vs Green in which most here said Ward fought close the same style as Hopkins. Anybody with a f4cking brain knows Ward is clearly a dirty fighter.
People here also say Mayweather is not a very good technical fighter. Most people here don't know **** about actual boxing and are just cheerleaders for their particular fighter. Guys think Wlad Klitschko is the next coming of Jersey Joe Walcott, when in reality his own brother would wipe the floor with his one dimensional ass.
He did surprise me. When it got rough he stepped it up. However it showed that Bika could have won the fight 11-1 rounds and it would have been a SD to Ward.
It seems like people just don't appreciate Ward's great inside game. Probably because it's not eye pleasing. And that's too bad because in-fighting is a part of boxing. And Ward's got a great one. I'll let the haters (probably Kessler/Euro fans) continue to moan while Ward continues to win. It's going to take someone really freaken good to beat this guy, i'll tell you that. I mean he's got to have a overall game like Ward. No one in the SMW has it.
Compared to other recent showings, Ward was not impressive against Bika. He hardly threw a combination the whole fight, his punch output was drastically low, he couldn't establish anything on the outside, he was getting manhandled a little on the inside, he didn't have the usual snap in his shots, etc. Not sure if it was just a styles thing or if he was just intimidated and put off his game by Bika, but I was expecting him to be a lot more impressive. Unlike Miranda, Kessler and Green, Bika was able to land some shots, so I suppose it's a lot harder to fight when you're getting hit back....
I watched Ward v Kessler as a neautral and called Ward a dirty ******* and slated the ref afterwards. I called it the way I saw it. You can say Im biased all you want, Im a Froch fan and gave the Kessler v Froch fight to Kessler. Ward will get credit when credits due, when he fights away from home with neutral ref and judges. I refuse to stick my tongue up his ass at what Iv witnessed so far.
Ward has tremendous ability, but the dirty tactics he uses are excessive and should be stopped. I could see maybe throwing a forearm, or leading with your head or elbow a few times in a rough 12 rounder, but he's constant with this stuff. I didn't like how Holyfield got away with it, especially during the Tyson rematch when Tyson comes off as looking like a villian and Holyfield as noble hero. I hope Abraham KO's Ward with an uppercutt when Ward flings forward with his head down.
This was Bika at his best, the same guy who was something of a spoiler for Calzaghe as well. Ward isn't a dynamic offensive fighter, just a really ****ing tough and smart one. He has shown in the past he can fight on the outside, but lately he has been smothering his opponents with a great in-fighting game.' He's the class of the division.
It's actually a lot like young Hopkins. I wish Andre would fight more on the outside at times as well, but he and Bika were fighting on equal grounds in this bout.
Atleast Wlad got pop while Ward doesn't have. They both boring to watch but atleast Wlad makes it great in the end when he wins by ko. With Ward it's a dirty fight until the decision comes.
