Allot of the typical post fight ESB bitching but lets tip our caps off to both men, a great fight between the 2 best 154lbers in the world. Loads of action, great counter punching from Martinez, great pressure from Williams, Paul also adapting well after the 3rd.

On the other hand I think its a really hard fight to score, Williams outlanded Martinez in nearly all the rounds, Martinez landed cleaner crisper shots for the main part although in some rounds Williams landed cleaner crisper rounds of his own. Not many rounds were clear either way and it comes down to preference for allot of them

I'd love to see a rematch but want to see Williams scalp Pavlik and Martinez get a big win to make it a bigger fight. Martinez is world class and I've thought he was world class since he beat Richard Williams (another williams ) in '03.

I personallly still think Pavlik scalps Williams ..But last nights fight could of been a draw at wrost but I had Martinez winning a close one ..I can't wait for the rematch ...I hope to see the same type of fire works ..

I can see legit bitching regarding the 119 scorecard! That was BS.

It was a hard fight to score. I had Martinez up by 2 rounds but I could see it going the other way. 114-114 and 115-113 were legit scores IMO. The third judge should be banned.

Fighting at 160 is totally different. I would like to see Williams v. Pavlik. Williams is faster but Kelly has a great chin and a better punch than Martinez. If Pavlik connects he wins by KO. If Williams moves and stays away from the power punches he will win by UD.

I think Williams boxes Pavlick's ears off.

this fight doesnt really tell me **** about pavlik vs williams...

pavlik & martinez dont share **** in common

and except for the kd in the first round... which pavlik would be incapable of doing because he doesnt really counter punch... i havent seen pw dazed (between rounds 1-8.. havent seen the last 4 yet)

Not much. Neither of them have a history of missing the weight.

The card was disgrace to the sport BUT it Wasnt Williams fault was it though, unless he personally bribed the judge, probably Goosen telling the judges who was paying their wages

I think it could be 8-4 either way to be honest but I side with Williams as I see him having more clear rounds. Even in the rounds where Williams head was snapping back on multiple occasions he landed more, but they werent as damaging.

As for Pavlik, he isnt half the boxer Martinez is skill wise but yes he probably hits harder and hes bigger. Agreed Williams should UD him

Neither Williams nor Martinez have the Defensive ability that you need to beat a guy like Pavlik... they both lose to him, against Pavlik you can't take shots and both Williams and Martinez are lacking in the defense department

he didnt get rocked... he got punched hard as **** and his head jerked all the way back but i wasnt worried about him at any point as far as being dizzy and potentially ko'd in that round

    Not a whole lot.

I had Martinez winning by a round, but this was NOT a robbery.

I knew it was going to be competitive.

In the rematch, anything could happen.

Maybe it should happen in Buenos Aires with three Argentinian judges.:yep
