Just watched Williams-Martinez - What a fight and a close 1

How could two of the judges have given Williams the first round 10-9?? That's impossible. Martinez hurt Williams.

 

Would you have not been worried if you'd watched it live?

 

We see it differently.

He was there for the KO.

Martinez lacked the killer instinct there.

It was deja vu of Taylor Pavlik. In that fight, I had a feeling Taylor had a perfect chance to end things, and when he failed to do it, I figured he would regret it.

I felt the same for Martinez in this one.

Delahoya, Mosley, even Pac.... and things would have ended right there.

I gave it to him too. Williams controlled the majority of the round. And while Martinez KD was clearly more impressive, they count the same. I can understand people giving the round to Martinez though, but for me aside from the last minute, PW won the round. Couple that with a KD of his own and its easy to see why someone would give him the round.

if both kd's = -1
pw essentially still won the round...

so its either a tie or a pw round... sm's knock down was not crazy enough for me to just ignore the fact that pw won the round & got a kd as well

 

Well said. Enough w/the hysterics. It was a great, close fight. Yes. One judge had his head up his ass. So let em' fight a rematch and then a re-rematch if it's close again.
