Watched it live. I was rooting for Vargas but whew, Tito made me a believer. Great fight, great back and forth action.
One of my great memories as a fan. Trinidad like him or not brought a lot of excitement and was great for boxing. Vargas came to win and showed a lot of heart and skill himself. Tito was just too quick for him.
Amazing fight. Several times it looked like Tito was ready to quit in his corner. Vargas was never the same again.
Yea that was no doubt fight of the year 2000- great back and forth, give and take slugfest.. I think that fight took more out of Vargas than Trinidad, because of the way Mosley easily handled him a few years later.... Great fight....
Almost stole fight off the year from Barrera - Morales 1, which says everything about how good it was.
Great fight, though i was never a fan of Vargas and thought he was a decent fighter who was being really overhyped. That Tito failed to put him away early when he had a great chance, then let him back into the fight to an extent and got hit so much didn't impress me very much. What heart Vargas showed though.He took a bad beating by the end and was never the same, but never stopped trying.
