    Why not?

If he destroys Wladamir and Vitali ending the boring and dull reign of over sized eurooean heavys, claiming all 4 belts in the process i think its some achievment.

It depends what your criteria is. Do you have to beat other ATG's to become one?? If thats the case Mike Tyson wouldn't be one. Infact every fighter Tyson beat i would tip a prime Klitscko brother to beat and he lost to the two best fighters of his time (Lewis & Holyfield) and didn't fight the other (Bowe)

But Tyson is an ATG Fighter only a fool would deny it.

Valid points Rob but as you say "It depends what your criteria is." That's what it comes down to really.

haye will never be an alltime great for the following reasons and no others

    poor stamina
    very poor chin
    poor defence
    too inactive
naturally too small for his era

Well surely if he beat both Klits after overcoming all of them shortcomings it would make more of a claim to be ATG?? :patsch

If Haye beats both Klits i'd call him an ATG sure, people call Vitali one allready and Haye (if he beats them both) has the better resume, and is a 2 weight champ, so.

Haye beating both Klitschkos wouldn't make him an ATG.

That would give him a grand total of two top class wins.

    Wow.

    :lol::lol:

of course he would have a claim if he beat them, however its those shortcomings that dont give haye a chance against the klits and he knows it, he is running out of things to say

watched ringside finally. didnt think it was BS from haye at all. i think he personally wanted this fight this time. i understand why he didnt want wlad to take a tune up, and why wlad wanted one.

what it doesnt explain is the 5 other times he bitched out. but what can you do.

Beeston. I agree with allot of what you have to say about Haye. but one question. If the fight is signed, and we get to October whatever and the bell rings, who do you support??

    Wlad.

I'm a nationalist, but in Haye's case I'll make an exception and support the foreigner.

The sooner he's out of the sport the better, whether it be by retirement or taking a kicking from Wlad.

I enjoyed it, but then again I am a Haye fan. I think people are being way too critical simply because they don't like him or how his heavyweight excursion has gone. Plus, if he'd done half the **** talking he did then he'd been seen in a far better light.

I really don't get the outrage the interview did seem genuine to me.

The only fight he deserves any **** for whatsoever in his career is audley, but considering he made 9 million and only ate one jab all night it's hard to argue the reasoning. From a personal point of view, the audley fight gave me a chance to watch a live heavyweight title fight. From a boxing fan point of view, it guaranteed we would have an english boxing champ. From a legacy point of view it did fuk all but I think even haye himself admitted as much in the build up and every post fight interview.

I agree with his points about fighting vitali. It would be seen as ducking wlad I don't care what anyone says. Idealy he doesn't retire and fights both as well as chambers, adamek and maybe solis.

But as it is, povetkin then wlad is as good as it can get.

That being said I don't believe he can become an atg at all. Him beating the brothers won't so much enhance his atg standings as detract theirs. He might crack the top 30 at a push but nothing more. Maybe if he stayed around and dominated another 5 years it would, but not just them two victories.

Same with vitali as well. His injury problems pretty much guarantee he won't see the top 20 atg list.

The only beltholder with a shout is wlad. If he finishes unbeaten he'll easily be top ten.

So I watched this last night and it was nowhere near as bad as people are making out. I kinda enjoyed it, Haye was pretty honest about his capabilities and talents. He admits he's not going to be an ATG and would have fallen short against the great heavies.

He doesn't seem to want Vitali though.
