An a side note,
Calling someone a bum in British English has a very different meaning to American English

When Fury calls someone a bum he isn't saying they are homeless lol

In the context Fury uses it, he isn't trying to rewrite events, he is giving an opinion on the quality of his opponent.

 

What are you talking about ? Americans know the word bum in boxing means your trash. Or most do. I dont know what he was typing

 

Fury is an expert on bums because that's almost all he has fought in his career

 

Wilder has to be one of the strangest cases in boxing history: a guy that went from being normal to being bat**** crazy seemingly overnight.

There were of course plenty of weird/eccentric/crazy characters in the sport, but no other than Wilder went from normal into crazy territory so overnight.

What I'm saying is British people don't use the word Bum to mean a homeless gadge. Tyson Fury therefore wouldn't either.

I don't know where double-chin is from. But whether he is American or an American English user he equates Bum with a homeless person. Because that is an American English definition not a British English one.

My post is about general usage, not general understanding.

 

All arguments aside about wilder's mental state, I think it would be good for boxing as a whole, especially the heavyweight division, if wilder just sucked it up and got himself back in the ring. The division needs good fights and wilder is capable of providing good fights. Who wouldn't want to see Wilder vs Ruiz or Wilder vs Joshua or Wilder vs Usyk? (other than maybe wilder)

 

I watched that clip and this is the worst mentality to have as a fighter. Wilder is living in denial and that's the worst thing to do coming off a bad loss. He will go on a bad losing streak very soon.

 

The more fights between rated fighters the better. Of course. That Martin fight isn't a bad one at all should it go down.
