I can see it either way, but I consider Donaire a better fighter with a better resume and more accomplished save for one argument. He's fought in three weight classes, like Martinez, been a titlist in two, like Martinez, been a unified champion in one, like Martinez, but never been considered linear champion in any, although most would consider him the best guy in the weight. Martinez beat "the man" and defended "the title" twice in big dominating performances. The only thing he really has over Donaire is status as the linear champion, to me. Like it or not, this will always carry a lot of weight.

Not on fight night, he doesn't way 157.

I think Dzinziruk weighed 170 for the last fight and Martinez 173?

Based on RECENT competition Donaire still crushes Sergio. Easily.

Have Hernan Martinez, Sidorenko, Mthalane and Montiel all proven far more in their weight classes than Paul Williams and Dzinziruk done at middleweight?

    Answer: Yes.

    Donaire > Martinez.

well martinez has been dominating the bigger guys. his wins over pavlik and williams are outstanding. for me they are interchangeable.

No, he's dominated people that belong at 154, and beaten Pavlik. In fact, he's only 1 - 1 against the light-middleweight (or perhaps even Welterweight) Williams, so....

Donaire is more skilled and more complete.

160 and 154 just get more recognition than the lower weights and Martinez beat two big names in pavlik and Williams but I think Donaire belongs ahead of Martinez.

Im not sold on martinez. His resume before Cintron is horrible. There is a lull in talent at junior middle and middle right now and he capitalized on it and there is no doubt he is the best there today. Going back 5-10 years there were a lot more talented fighters at that weight that were fighting at the top for most of their careers.

Williams had fought more times at middleweight than Martinez prior to both of their fights.

You're insane. Syodrenko was arguably 4-4 in his last eight before facing Donaire. Mthalane lost on a cut, but somehow he was dominated. Also your "current champ at 112" point is nonsensical since all he did was win the very vacant trinket that he had just lost to Donaire. Pong's the only real champ at 112.
Please tell me which middleweights were superior to Williams and Dzinziruk on the nights that Martinez beat them.

Dzinziruk was 167 and Martinez was 170.

So Cintron, who's won nothing since the fight, Williams, who has won nothing since the fight. Pavlik, who.....I'm sure you see where I'm going with this.

I have always thought Pavlik is overrated the dude is boring to watch too.Cintron jumps out off the ring or cries.Williams is just

tall not much else. Donaire is ahead of him but with this steroids allegations over him i would say it's close.

What has Sydorenko done lately? I also seem to recall Cintron beating Angulo immediately after the Martinez fight.

I have to assume this is not a serious request.

Anyhow, "arguably" doesn't mean much. Sidorenko had two close fights against the fighter that took his belt, and he got destroyed by Donaire in the same weight class. You say "all" Mthlane did was win the vacant trinket - but he's defended it on multiple occasions, making the fact it was a vacant title rather moot. Holding a belt generally proves that you are one of the top fighters in your division, if not the top fighter.

Which is more than what Williams and Dzinziruk did at middleweight. You say Williams fought at middleweight more times than Sergio - pretty irrelevant as we can all see that Williams can make 154 with no problem - which makes him what? That's right folks, not a middleweight. He's never beaten anyone at middleweight, and he never will. Neither will Dzinziruk, barring a mini-miracle.

    Fact.

Nothing, but at least he was coming off good performances and was proven in the weight class Donaire destroyed him in.

Cintron did beat Angulo, and it's a good win, even if he hasn't built on it. Still doesn't bring Martinez close to what Donaire has done.

SO you're slighting Martinez for fighting 2 guys who came from the same weight class he did and are basically bigger then him?:lol::lol::lol:

    You're a buffoon.

Btw, Martinez beat the man at middleweight.
