Judging by the saltiness of your post, clearly you're invested in him. Yes, he's skilled, but all that hand speed and punch placement will mean **** all at Heavyweight, he's easy to hit, which is a recipe for disaster. I did the RBR for the Goodall match and scored it a shutout in Huni's favor, still at the end of the day... it was a slugfest, with Huni landing the crisper counters and slightly more volume. Hence why I said he was slightly better than Goodall. How about prove he's levels above Goodall and dispatch him like Ajagba did? Which speaks volumes, since Ajagba isn't all that impressive either.
You might want to re-read my posts. There's zero saltiness. You seem aggrieved that I'm outlining some facts to you after you've made some grandiose comments which have been rebutted. All good, enjoy your day.
You're outlining nothing, and you certainly haven't rebutted anything with these so-called facts of yours. In your opinion, it's too soon to write him off, in my opinion, it's not. I value my judgment a hell of a lot more than yours and I'm sure the feeling is mutual. So we're at an impasse. I used to rate Huni for a few minutes, but after two lackluster performances against guys he should have looked amazing against, told me, at Heavyweight, mostly due to his lack of punching power.... I determined that he's going nowhere. Because in that division, more than the rest, power greatly matters. Personally, I like the guy and hope he does well, but the thread asked a question and I answered it, and considering I've seen literally all 10 of Huni's matches, I'm more qualified than most.
Paul Gallen is a Rugby League player turned prize fighter. Not a great win and he hurt his hands and missed the Olympics. A stupid risk to take that fight. Huni needs to work hard like Usyk to maintain his stamina for 12 rounds, because power can't be trained at this late stage of his career. If he can do that, he can outbox any heavyweight.
It was my first time watching Huni so I didn’t realize he had a hard night with lerena. I will have to look that up. I was surprised to see only 5 or so KO’s in 10 fights
You have contradicted yourself. How can one fighter be only “slightly better” than another fighter yet win every round? That makes no sense. Anybody with eyes can tell you that Huni is several levels above Goodall.
No... I haven't contradicted myself, as @IntentionalButt and I have both explained on countless occasions, a FOTY caliber match can have 12 fiercely competitive rounds with every single round beng scored in favor of one fighter. Huni-Goodall was a standard issue 60-40 type fight, with Huni winning 60% of every round, but Goodall hanging tough but clearly being outclassed at 40%. If he was several levels above Goodall, he'd have given him the Ajagba treatment, which he was incapable of.
