I would go one better and avoid turning it on.

Garth Wood interests me very little and JWP for all his esteemed combat prowess I see none of it in the boxing ring. This would be a god awful fight.

the guy has a young family. He has been in millions of wars, alot of them gym wars, He has slipped a notch or 2. I have seen him spar a far bit against les, No headgear, just going at it. with les. He needs to get out of the getting hit game aka combat sports inside the ropes. he has a good gym, it is time to train some good thai fighters.

He knows his own strengths and limitations.......
So therefore it is for him to decide.

Do the people that suggest these fights actually watch boxing?

Wood has the kind of style that would make female mud wrestling hard to watch.
Unless his name is next to Mundine's, he should never be on PPV again.

My two prior posts suggest otherwise, as you said each to their own.

Just because they're two great Aussies doesn't make it a great fight.

No-one's suggesting this fight should be a ppv. It's a damn good domestic match-up.

JWP has some serious two handed power..he has scored some very impressive ko's with his mitts in both boxing and muay thai.

Woods is awful for him though under the queensberry rules of combat..Parr getting a little old and he would need a bit more speed to overcome Garth.

This isn't directed at JWP haven't seen him fight or spar in years so have no idea

but the problem with a lot of boxers are they THINK they know their strengths and limitations when they dont

I think boxers should listen to others when it comes to this decision.

Plenty have gone a fight or 2 too many or made bad comeback decisions because of this

JWP was in Albury on the weekend doing a seminar, he still looks in tip top shape. Not sure he would be intrested in this matchup as it wouldnt produce much money, he gets a bit for fighting in the K1 so why would he fight Wood for next to nothing? he is already an 8 time world champ, he dont have anything to prove in boxing imo.

JWP is a machine Jim he seems to get better the longer he goes a few boxers have quit on their stools because of broken hands.
Far from all over for him and Wood would be perfect.
In saying that I just read on the boxrec forum that Danial Pawsey said Wood is fighting Soliman next.
    So it will not happen..
