    So how would Tanaka vs. Ioka work, exactly? Kazuto still able to make fly without draining himself? Or would Kōsei dump his title for the bigger money and move up to super fly? (which means that it technically ought to be a 10-rounder, since neither would have any hardware to ante up)

    Also guessing we shouldn't hold our breath for a Tanaka vs. Hatanaka match-up to ever coalesce, being as they're stable mates? It makes sense they would purposefully go different routes then (WBO & WBC) but it does mean that if both continue on their upward trajectories and neither climbs up we almost certainly get deprived of a unification...not to mention a fun as hell fight.

    Tanaka, at his public work out earlier in the week, said he hopes to fight Ioka at Super Flyweight next year for a world title.

    By the way, I'd love to hear your scorecard for Carroll vs. Farmer. I had it for Carrol, who I thought boxed a brilliant little match, similar to Castano against Lara. Pinoy had it a draw, and the rest of the RBR rode Farmer's dick like it was a pinata full of gold that they were trying to bust.

    No chance of it happening. Japanese gym rules would stop it, Tanaka also intends to move up anyway next year, Hatanaka won't be ready for a world title fight this year (he'd need to win the JBC or OPBF title first anyway)
