    This happens in <24 hours - where's the damn hype, gaijin???? (or even a poll thread :shakehead:)

    WBO flyweight title at stake, 1st defense of Tanaka. His challenger is moving up from light flyweight, and coming directly off the loss of his IBF & WBA titles in that division (where Tanaka co-reigned with him as the WBO light fly champ for ten months - with this match-up to some extent sating the disappointing of those who never got the hoped-for domestic unification showdown).

    Taguchi has a 1½" height and 3½" reach advantage. Tanaka is undefeated and the younger fighter by nine years.

    IB funfact: despite having a combined 15 world title fights between them, neither has ever fought outside their native Land of the Rising Sun.

    Oh and yes those are real nicknames. Taguchi, after years of not having one, quietly picked his and sewed it onto his trunks before his 7th light flyweight title defense against Melindo and mentioned it once in passing in a Japanese media interview.

    Tanaka's workrate and handspeed favors him against taguchi although tanaka is also a walking timebomb who gets pretty reckless when he doesn't need to

    I had a really weird dream last night where this fight was a minor part of it, and it ended in Tanaka winning by knockout. Not sure how accurate that will be but it was fairly odd since I haven’t really been thinking about this fight, although I am excited for it now that it’s here lol

    Kimura and Kyoguchi will only be available on Japanese TV, the Asian Boxing stream is expected to be commentary less, so arena sounds only like Tanaka vs Kimura.
