New Year's Eve @ Ota-City Gymnasium in Tokyo, likely airing on TBS in Japan. This may or may not be the last-ever world title bout of 2019, depending on whether this or Kazuto Ioka vs. Jeyvier Jesús Cintrón Ocasio is considered the main event (more likely the latter is, which means this will be the penultimate one). WBO flyweight title at stake, third defense of Tanaka. Hailing from Ürümqi, China, the challenger (ranked WBO #10 and WBA #3) has a ½″ advantage in height and 2½″ in reach. He began his career 2-3-1 but is now on a three year unbeaten streak.
Just want to give myself a round of applause, took me a good 20 minutes of tenacious researching before digging up a documented nickname for Tuolehazi. (unlike @CST80, when there isn't an existing one, I forgo the pleasure of making one up - to which he's far better-suited - and reluctantly phrase the poll question some alternate way rather than my preferred format of "ring moniker vs. ring moniker")
TBS are showing this and Ioka. This is from 5pm, Ioka from 6pm local time P. S. Max Power Promotions has Wulan's nickname >_>
I just have to wonder everytime, how in the name of **** is this guy 26 years old?? https://boxrec.com/media/images//a/a4/Wulan_Tuolehazi_cropped.jpg
Looking forward to seeing Tanaka in action again. The guy is an action talent. I hope he unifies at Fly though. Same with Kenshiro and Kyoguchi, actually.
Ugggggh, so 3am EST for Tanaka vs. Tuolehazi and 4am EST for Ioka vs. Cintrón, then? Damn...was hoping for much later. Staying up all night for that Murata vs. Butler card has shattered my circadian rhythm, gonna be a mess for the holidays. Oh well, guess I'll carry over that messiness into the new year...in for a penny.
If anybody wants to catch hot prospect Ginjiro Shigeoka on the undercard, he posted on social media that his bout will be at 1:20pm local time in Tokyo. This content is protected @Boxing Prospect do you know if his bout will be shown on Paravi? His last four were, I believe.
I'm going with the Tianshan Snow Leopard upset here. Tanaka makes a ton of mistakes, Wulan will make him pay dearly for them.
No this one won't be on Paravi as far as I'm aware, the one with Lino wasn't either (not sure it was shown anywhere, though pats of the card were shown on on a super obscure channel I've no access at all to) My guess is that it will be on TBS or TBS2 as part of a Guts Fighting show in the future RE Paravi - If you can make that work outside of I'll shoot you a late Christmas present lol
Just to add to this IOKA WILL NOT BEGIN BEFORE 6PM LOCAL The start time for Ioka's broadcast is SET due to the way Japanese affiliate TV channels work. If Tanaka/Wulan ends early get a coffee, you'll have to wait.
