This would be a great comeback fight for Kirkland and a very easy way for him to pick up a strap against a weak title holder. What's everyone opinion on this match up.

It would be a good move in the short term for Kirkland as he will get a title back fairly easily, however the problem is that by winning a strap he could get quickly pushed into bigger fights against top guys whilst he's still rusty after being out of the ring for so long. Are you even sure he can still make 154?

Kirkland needs some warm up fights. Going straight for K-9 in his first fight out of prison would be really big mistake. He needs to fight a few nobodies first.

    After a tune-up fight - I don't see why this would be a problem.

If he takes the fight now and loses - we'll all be saying - he should have taken one.

Kirkland is one of the most exciting fighters on the planet - why would you want his big comeback to be against someone who makes EVERYONE look boring.

If he builds enough of a name, he'll get a belt eventually. The ABCs find reasons to give belts to those guys.

Agreed......this is a good tuneup for him against a relatively known name.

Not a bad fight, bad one for K9 though. Kirkland beats him like he stole something

Kirkland would put a bad beating on K9. It wouldn't last all that long.

Would be glad to see it though. K9 gets some money in the process...Kirkland gets his first belt.

Even at 70% of what he was, this is an easy KO win for Kirkland.

He might just have to climb off the canvas to do so, as against Conyers...but probably not.

Though I feel Kirkland could take out K-9 in his first post prison fight, I do agree he should take a warm up fight first.
