Good shot, he obviously had that leg planted and got some good leverage.
It's happened to me in sparring before where I've thrown a right hook (I'm southpaw) that had no explosion or rotation on it, it seemed slow and weak to me but my foot was planted strongly on the ground, it really rocked the guy I was sparring with. It was a different sort of connect where you feel like you're lifting the other guy with your punch. I think this was a similar sort of punch.

  2. Yeah coach and experienced fighters constantly repeat that speed kills in boxing, to stop trying to put so many power shots in training. I've seen a fair few KOs also rocked guys in sparring by grazing shots or even just just medium shots that caught the opponent completely offguard. It doesn't take a lot to knock someone if they arn't expecting the shot.

Also if the fighter gives up mentally, looks away or closes their eyes the shots can be a lot more damaging, its strange like that.

Great punch and ******ed movement by the guy who got knocked out.

This reveals one of the secrets to knocking people out, catch them when they are coming in and your using their power against them vastly increasing your chance of the knockout, this doesn't show the guy is chinny it shows he was rash and charged in off balance and basically knocked himself out on the other guys fist.

Maintaining a balanced stance is key in boxing, this video shows you why, windmilling in is only going to get you knocked out.

I hope its not the coaches at your former club who are having this conversation because they should know this ****.

I think the red was just caught cold....opening 30 secs of a bout are always hectic, risk of getting knocked out is high if you lunge in

Punch wasn't thrown with tremendous leverage or power but it doesn't need to be. Landing on the chin with a blind punch that someone isn't expecting is normally enough to make his legs go.

Also, were was that fight, in someone's basement? Looks like the cornermen, the ref and 2 fighters are only ones in that entire place.

Clean hit to the jaw but not sure if it was intentional. Looks to me at least like he just threw a random punch that just caught him off guard.

Its the punches you don't see coming that knock you out, he lunged in at the punch. Blue just threw the punch and it landed in the right spot. I think weak chin also. It wasnt a big punch. To be knocked cold from a punch like that means you aint gonna go far in boxing.
