This is my reply to "TKO6 thread". Hasim Rahman knocked out Lennox Lewis cold with a single punch while losing the fight on points. He didn't need a help from the doctor or referee. The rematch wasn't needed at all, because Rahman proved he was a better man that night, right? What can be a more convinsing victory than clean KO? Rahman did Lewis a favour giving him a rematch - he could have retired at the very top - as WBC/IBF/lineal heavyweight champion of the world and he didn't need to prove he was a better than Lewis because he already had proven everything in the first fight. To be fair, Lewis was 38. If he retired at 30, I'd get the sentiment but he had every right to retire at that age, can't blame him really.
I will agree though that it wasn't the conclusive loss the way some are trying to portray, the "TKO6" thing is more of a troll response really. Don't get me wrong, Lewis win is legit in that fight and I take nothing away, but winning on cuts is not something you can replicate in future fights necessarily. So who knows how future contests would have went down. The fight was kinda even though Lewis (IMO) was starting to take over.
Indeed he was VERY big. I can't remember so huge heavyweight champ KTFOed in such brutal fashion. Wladimir Klitschko was knocked down a lot of times, but always got up - he never was counted out.
