It does not matter what he got before. It only matters what he can get going forward. These are not arbitrary numbers. There are knowledgeable people that come up with them. Everybody has a price at any given point. Since Toney turned down $1.5m he had 2 fights and I doubt he made even fraction of that amount. He should have taken that payday and retire. He made a mistake that cost him real money.

Again 2.8 million dollars is overpricing. It's like with Joe Johnson getting 120 million dollars for staying with The Hawks. And besides after his gift draw with Rahman. His steriods for the no decision with Ruiz. <<I think it proved easily that 1.5 million is a fair offer considering he doesn't have a belt and hasn't won a meningful fight since he beat Holyfield. He's not a draw at all. For f4ck sake his rematch vs Rahman was on a show the best damn sports show period. That fight took place in a freaking casino that look like a hotel. <<<That's showing he deserves more then 1.5 million? I'm glad you ain't the manager or a promoter.

    Sorry completely disagree.

You expect Toney to accept $1.5 million for a title shot v Klitschko in a fight that will generate more money when he had just made $2.8 million fighting Rahman?

    Is this what you're saying?

That 2.8 million would have been a basic plus % of sales on top. As for "I'm glad you're not the manager or promoter", are you saying King and Goosen don't know how to make $$? Seriously?

I don't care about the rematch, this is about the match that preceeded the Klitschko offer and in that fight Toney earned 1.3 million more, I don't blame him for telling K2 to shove it, lower your % and give me a decent payday.

I also posted that Toney got $1.1 million for facing Peter in a WBC title elimenator ffs! Not even a title shot!!!!:patsch

Yes, he should have taken the money. He would be at least $1mil richer than he is now.

:rofl You guys crack me up. He gets $2.8 million for a Rahman WBC title fight, less than a year later gets $1.1 million for a WBC title elimenator fight but inbetween should accept $1.5 million for a title shot at Klitschko.....seriously!!!

Its not as if either guys draw was improved upon after that fight....if it had been a barn burner rather than the 3rnd NC versus would probably still be trying to headline some good matches

Still doesn't hide the fact that for Wlad there would be a larger pot, still a title shot, yet $1.3 million less than fighting Rahman. It doesn't make sense.

Contracts issue is nothing buy an excuse for the coward Haye fans. Haye broke a signed contract, then he broke an implied contract. Haye fans should be ashamed of that lying coward.

Yeah it was a joke offer.

Also Toney was lined as next WBC mandatory at that time, so it was no wonder he didn’t agree to fight Klitchko with chumps change, when he already had guaranteed shot, for Rahman vs. Maskaev winner.

Toney was willing to make the fight happen for 35% cut, but K2 declined.

Kalle Sauerland said "they own a stake in Haye" and receive part of the revenues of every fight of his they co-promote until the options deal runs out.

Yes I believe it's 10-15% for 3 fights. Well you didn't think they chose the opponent without a % did you? That would be the worst options deal in history! "We chose your opponent and.....errrr.....that's it....nothing in it for us..."

The 3rd fight will be Chagaev as mandatory, remember Goldenboy have a piece of Haye and I believe it's longer than 3 fights, so they'll want to get Chagaev out the way which gets rid of Sauderland/Kings cut and gives them a bigger % for Klitschko.

How can K2 be allowed to put in the contract that the winner of the rematch if they won must fight the other brother too? Surely they can't be allowed to do that. Vitali is WBC champ so shouldn't have to fight the IBF champ.

I would assume it doesn't literally say Chisora has to face Vitali, it probably says he has to face a "K2 promoted fighter" or a "fighter that is mutually agreeable by Chisora *AND* K2". That - between the lines - would probably imply the other brother.

The good part for Chisora is that all rematch options for K2 become invalid after one year. That means either they take their options within 12 months or Chisora is free to box whoever he wants to - e.g. if the Klits are injured or otherwise unable to fight within the 12 months.
