Povetkin was mandatory and they still managed to give him an unfair contract.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

This shows you don't know what you are talking about the first fight went to a purse bid that K2 won for like 13 mil which Povetkin was getting like 3.3 mil AS A MANDATORY. That is a huge payday. He tripped on a tree root (yeah right) so he missed out on that purse which was by far the biggest of his career.

I believe the IBF is 75/25 or 70/30 or so for a mandatory so the Klitschko's DO NOT dictate **** when it comes to the contracts and you can't have options on a mandatory fight.

    You are clueless. :hi:

Are you kidding me? Povetkin was guaranteed a $2 million Dollar payday. The reason he bitched out wasn't the contract but as Atlas explained Povetkin was mourning the death of his father and was unable to concentrate on preparation. Hardly the fault of the Klitschkos is it?

Read the interview with Povetkin's manager Hrunov, he lays out the details. The Povetkin case had *NOTHING* to do with contract problems, it was personal problems.

Arthur Abraham said to the Klitschko terms:

"They are the champs and the champs make the conditions and not the challenger. If the challenger becomes champ he can make his conditions. That has been the same since 100 years."

BTW Audley Harrison gets 100.000 for the Hayefight?

The road to becoming a mandatory is always open to Tua. $400k would have been unfair to him ten years ago but today I'm not so sure.

So they shortchange, if you believe you can win, fight, take the belts and write your own ticket.

I only get annoyed if theyre forced into rematch or something like the Louis-Cinderella Man (?) disgrace, signing over your future for a shot.

There's no options and rematch clauses for mandatory challengers. Thread closed.

(Just these worthless crap contenders are too lazy and old to get a mandatory shot, so they rather whine about the terrible contracts they get for voluntary title defense shots! DUH!!!!!!!)

That's the problem with povetkin's promoters not being able to make money for him.

Going way back fighters purses were almost always in the news, Lewis, Tyson, Bowe etc, and with that a rematch clause came as standard and would be in the news. Things seem different with K2.

Undeserved? Ok who else will fight them? No-one that's who, Chisora is in a prime position for K2.

    1) It's deserved, no-one above him will fight or have already fought.
If K2 offered him a fight then they obviously feel he's the highest deserving guy willing to fight, kind of destroy's your point doesn't it?
    2) See point one
    3) Meteoric rise??? He'll be straight back to being free on SKY earning small purses, what are you talking about??

So it's CHISORA who's getting paid too much now??? Are you ****ing serious?? You're talking like a guy fighting for the title should be paid the same amount as if he was fighting a can!!!

None the less, still irrelevant, Vitali should have no part in the negotiations whoever the opponent is, you're focusing on Chisora too much.

Mandatories are once a year, and as standard get 33% I believe, that's fair, but you have to take the mandatory position AND be happy with the extras in the contract you're offered.

Wasn't Povetkin the mandatory but still unhappy with a lot of the clauses?

I'm not a hater, I'm presenting a case where 12 fighters have had issues with K2.

    How I about I say you're hating against the 12 fighters who've complained/are complaining?
