You're absolutely right, them days are over. And do you know what else is over, the chances of Haye becoming an international superstar. It is clear that HBO wants no part of him if his name isn't attached to a Klitschko. So, he can go on and make his money in the UK from no own because his running has made regional player.

 

CHEF is a tad busy right now but a lot of the speculation comes from one of his posts on this board when he said Wlad was open to 50/50 for this fight.

 

Can you give me a SINGLE REASON why anyone would give Haye the benefit of the doubt, after all the broken promises? After disappointing us boxing fans numerous times?

Absolutely. What many Haye fans refuse to admit is the fact that all of the hype surrounding Haye was built on the promise that he would fight a Klitschko. Really, who was haye before he challenged Wlad. He was a little known cruiserweight who was virtually unknown outside of the UK. Sure, he was good. I'm not questioning his talent or his accomplishments at cruiserweight. but he entire career at heavyweight was based on him "cleaning out the division" and "ridding it of the Klitschkos." It has been two years since Haye first made those claims. And for those of us who knew it was talk...well, we don't want to say we told you so, but we did. Haye has no intention at all of fighting a Klitschko. As soon as he got his hands on that WBA belt and realized how much money he could make staging fight in the UK, he's been silent when it comes to the Klitschkos. And it's not that his necessarily a coward. He's just a businessman and fighting is just one part of his business. He'll never face a Klitscho. Not when he can may money fighting WBA retreads in front of his ridiculous UK fans.

 

wlad is the champ - haye is a contender.

 

Because Haye is a contender, he isnt equal to Klitchkos because he didnt prove himsel in HW and is only a beltholder not a true champ

Wladimir is the IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring Magazine Heavyweight Champion of the World. He also already knocked out the true WBA Champion in Chagaev. Haye isn't even the true WBA Champ, Wlad is. Haye won the title from Valuev who had already lost his title to Chagaev in the ring.

only people who would say something as stupid a that they are too arrogant are Haye fans. They have proven to be good ambassadors for the sport and do a lot of charity work. besides that the fact that no one besides Haye has ever complained about anything like that it shows more his poor character then anything.

Uhh, well last time I checked Haye is not teh heavyweight champion of teh wrold. His meaningless alphabet title doesn't mean jack squat... so he is in fact a contender.
