WBC didn't refuse to honour it, GGG agreed to it.

Idk if they did for the first fight. Listen, people are terrified of GGG. The belt is in a really sad limbo place right now, and it will take fans/media pressure before WBC/GBP give in. They'll face backlash after this, so I don't think they'll be able to continue much longer. The beating of the drum for GGG to fight the WBC Champion is loud and hard to ignore.

Golovkin has been a mandatory for more than 2 years and the champ is getting voluntary after voluntary. WBC needs to man up and K2 needs to get mean. I get GGG is nice and everything, but it would really help if he started trash talking to the media. Remember, Pacquiao played the nice game with Mayweather for like 5 years!!! Mayweather didn't give in till Pacquiao started talking bad-mouthing him to the public. Pac didn't want to do it, but even he said nice wasn't working. It won't work with GBP. GGG could shame them into fighting him like Pac did, but it's just not his character.

It wouldn't have been much of an agreement if GGG's side felt WBC wouldn't have stripped Canelo anyways. Not saying that's the case. We just don't know the details yet.

That's really unlikely and I doubt that, I think what it comes down to is that GGG himself wants the Canelo payday and he doesn't want to jeopardize it, the belt is secondary.

Pacquiao 100% did. Lol omg yes he did. It helped incredibly. Pac trashing Floyd got the fans trashing Floyd, got the media trashing Floyd. It really, really helped. It kept the pressure up and even raised it. Every "bad-mouthing word" Pac spoke to pressure Floyd become a headline the next day and then Floyd would be asked and asked about the headline. Do you not remember how this all started? It was quite fun to watch, tbh.

The sad part is the WBC really is the FIFA of boxing and it shows.

It's really unlikely? Dude, WBC has done it 3 times already, and now four. Regardless, if GGG could get the big fight + belt over just the belt, he'd definitely choose the first. The belt isn't secondary, it's just the reward is even bigger if it's on Canelo when they fight.

You should follow cruiserweight division too, it's pretty good.

The head of CBS knocked heads to get the fight made. Their dwindling ppv numbers helped. If they were still making decent ppv numbers, they would have continued their kabuki dance with the fans and never fought each other. Do you really think Mayweather cares what Pac says about him? lol Pac said " If you don't fight me, then yo Mama!" Mayweather says " Don't talk about my Mama, fool! Let's fight!!!" lol Is that how the conversation went?

Unless GGG's team comes out with "They wouldn't have stripped Canelo had he refused to face us so that was our only option" then I'm going to believe that this is K2/GBP coming to a mutual agreement.

As far as I'm aware, he stepped aside for Cotto as well so that doesn't count, I don't really remember anything prior to that though in regards to Martinez.

    I love being right... :)

Been schooling these bummyluvkin fanboys since day one yet they didn't want to listen.. been saying this for months, Bummy should of fought Ward yet wanted to fight a shop worn midget. The WBC didn't strip the Irishman and now Bummy is in an even more awkward position. LMFAO
