The only thing lineal about the 'middleweight' championship of the world these days is cowardice. We've now had three supposedly elite level guys who claim to have inherited the mantle of being 'the man' at 160 only to brick their trunks at the thought of facing their number one contender and most people's pick at number one fighter in the division.

That WBC strap should have a big yellow streak added to the middle of it.

He can do what he wants to do.

    That's the point.

He can make money without Golovkin.

Where is GGG going to go to get paid?

I don't like these CW fights in general, let alone for lineal championships.

I'm not too sure Canelo will ever step into the ring with him at the full 160. I think there's a better chance that he vacates the belt and Gennady is given the title of full WBC champion. If he cares about being in mega fights and getting big paydays down the road though, than he's going to probably have to appease Canelo on all his terms.

Most of the time when you're taking on a PPV star and you're the clear B-side, you have to compromise in pretty much every facet of the negotiation (ring size, gloves, etc.) If Gennady wants to get to that next level of s****om, he'll probably have to give Canelo everything he wants negotiation-wise. If all he cares about is unifying the division though, than he shouldn't budge whatsoever with his negotiation tactics.

Perfect. You will never get a response though. Don't try to play chess with checker players. They don't want to get it.

Only on ESB can the middleweight champion want the fight at 156 and it be ok.

Catchweights stink, no doubt about it, but some of you ***** too much and are acting like it's not a part of boxing now. It's become part of the negotiating process. Floyd, Pac, Cotto and others were rightly criticized for their catchweight demands and Canelo deserves the same criticism but by the same token, catchweights can be the opening salvo to negotiate fights that otherwise would not take place.

Cotto would not even contemplate the fight with GGG even at a catchweight, Canelo is. So, not the same thing.

Canelo accepted Cotto's catchweight demands and that fight was made.

If Canelo/GGG is not made because GGG refuses to negotiate then he can be accused of ducking the fight as much as Canelo.:deal

What division does Canelo fight in? That's your answer... Shameful ducking by Canelo.

Middleweight division which is anywhere from 155-160.

If GGG is the warrior some of us are claiming he is then he should have no problem facing Canelo somewhere in there. Otherwise the shameful ducking finger can be pointed the other way.:deal

Stop looking at this through biased groupie eyes.
