Tbf Im on with them negotiating a higher split, not if it becomes a deal breaker though.

You've gotta remember every belt Golovkin has is only due to a fighter being stripped or vacated.

He will make more money than ever against Canelo and if he wins that fight he then becomes the man who dictates the shots.

Jacobs, Saunders, Canelo, CEJ there's good fights out there for him.

Canelo never said he was but Laughler keeps brining It up.

Oh well, they're going to wish they took the deal when they see GG fighting under Canelo promotions.

GBP will most likely counter. I get Loefller looking for the ceiling but don't price yourself out.

I've said all along that 70/30 would be a good split esp against someone who has been as reluctant as Canelo and his promoter in wanting the fight, thing is reluctant or not the public pressure on this match up has been so great and potentially damning for Canelo that they need to make this fight just as much K2 wants it,GGG could have Jacobs and possibly Saunders for his next fights whilst Canelo cannot afford another Liam Smith type guy unless the public know they are 160 tune ups?

I'm quite optimistic that this fight will get made, who knows we might be getting strung along as Isal has been saying for a while?

Anything from 65/35 to 75/25 in favor of Canelo should be good.

Golovkin's last fight set the precedence of his being a "Flat Fee" class fighter, undeserving of gate and network splits because his contribution to both are minimal.
Every decision has an adverse trade-off, and K2's decision to match Golovkin soft for almost a decade has resulted in his having no fan base.

Take the offer GBP gave you, win the fight and rid your self of your Welfare mentality.

well ggg shouldn't be stupid like pac and take the fight now while he doesen't owe the irs a fortune and while he can still handily beat canelo.

ggg doesn't have more than 1 year before canelo has the advantage.

Aissuming Lemieux, Jacobs or even Monroe Jr won't get their hands on 160 Canelo.

Alvarez won't be the same fighter once he fights real middles.

Even Brook would give him hell there.

And, according to him, that's where he goes next.

It wasn't a direct comparison with Manny, they just want a percentage split based on the Floyd-Manny fight.

I knew before I even clicked on this thread there'd be people saying "but GG's not Manny"

It's nothing to do with that.

There's nothing wrong with a fair split of the overall amount.

    Canelo can still get more.

Nobody with any business acumen would accept a flat fee a year out for what will be one of the biggest grossing fights of all time.

    Try to be objective.

There'll be lots of twists and turns.

I'm expecting Oscar to give them a deadline at some point.

Old news, where you only see things from one perspective.

If you don't remember, Manny agreed to everything, and that fight still never happened.

Floyd's flat fee joke told everyone he never wanted the fight back then.

And the Yeller Clownelos dont understand that Canelo is not even Pacqioua, MUCH LESS Mayweather.

If he wants to become the next May or Pac, he's got to conquer Golovkin. Or at the very least, Jacobs Eubank and Lemiuex. And that's if GGG hasnt ruined them as he did Geale, Murray, and possibly Brook.

A lot of people are sleeping on GG.

A lot of people think that Canelo and Oscar have lots of great options and incredible power.

A lot of people are going to be in for a shock.

Canelo has the Mexican backing and youth on his side. But GG is now in a better position than Canelo. Although the Brook fight was poor, it's the best thing that's ever happened to him. Because it's enhanced his fan base and his reputation with the casuals, and it's given guys like Jacobs and BJS a confidence boost. Both of those guys have seen flaws, and both of them want the spotlight. So now it looks like the Jacobs fight is definitely going to happen, and it looks as though a fight with BJS can happen early next year. So it's more than possible that GG can obtain those belts within the next 6 months. Now Canelo is injured, which means he's out of the spotlight and he'll probably vacate his WBO belt. I really can't see him remaining at JMW to fight Andrade. So he'll be on the sidelines while GG can have another 2 big fights which will increase his popularity even further. Now if Canelo does vacate, he will definitely move up to MW. But if he does that, when he's overcome his injury, he will be put in with a low level opponent to test the waters. So if GG can beat Jacobs and BJS (fair enough, it's a big if at this stage) and obtain their belts next year, it would give K2 an awful lot of leverage. And it would put Oscar and Canelo under an enormous amount of pressure. Both of them literally wouldn't be able to leave their house without someone mentioning a GG fight.

Who else could Canelo fight after he's committed to moving up? It would either be a GG leftover or a CW. If GG has all the belts he won't have to bend over backwards to chase Canelo. Canelo's popularity would start to work against him, because his huge Mexican fan base would demand that he steps up to the plate. K2 aren't going to be pushed around. By the time they negotiate next year, GG could have had 3 consecutive big fights with great ratings, whilst Canelo may only have had 2. GG's in a good position. And if they can't reach a compromise, Canelo is the one who'll suffer for it. GG can always move up. Realistically, Canelo can't move any higher than MW and he'd get abused if he tried to go back to JMW. So I'm predicting a turning of the tide here. Again, I think a lot of people are going to be in for a shock. In the next 6 months, the onus could be on GBP to make the fight instead of vice versa. All this talk of Canelo getting 70% etc is BS. He won't have that amount of power. Things are going to get very interesting.
