    BRUU HAAAA HAAAAA,

listen to the VILLAGE IDIOT !!!

:bash: In today's LA TIMES newspaper Lance Pugmire's article discussed Canelo's SHRINKING PPV sales.

:BangHead: According to the article... Canelo PPV downward spiral is due to his actions after the Khan fight, and then SURRENDERING THE BELT !!!

This scathing article is available on the Times web site if the lowly BACK ROOM CLERKS who never read the news are interested.

    ;)

By next year Golovkin's value will still be 1/10th of Canelo's.

The only way for Golovkin's popularity to rise to Canelo level by next year is for him to fight some highly recognizable named opponent, and that ain't Billy Bob Saunders, Bum Jr. Eubank or any other low b-level Europ-bum.
LOL, a resume full of Geale and Murrays is exactly what got GiGi is this position. It Dam sure won't change the situation by using the same "feed-em-soft" flaw that created it.

Right now, Golovkin has no base and no claim to gate $.
HBO will only paid peanuts for TV rights.
The boy is going to be 35 or 36 next year.
    What a waste!

I think it is a fair offer, Canelo can get more than half of total pay vs GGG, (Example) Canelo gets 60M to GGG's 20M and
I think it could hit 2M buys or more.

I understand, but Floyd obviously didn't have any issue drawing blood, whereas Manny did. I'm not sure if they're still online, but I've read articles/interviews from 2005 detailing what had happened against Morales.

Manny wasn't suspect until Floyd Snr spoke out.

Yeah, but we don't know how close.

I'm satisfied with his reasoning, because again, I've seen articles that discussed it which were 5 years before they negotiated. I believe him.

The whole saga just got me down, and I just hope we're not going to through something similar with GG and Canelo.

Oh I agree entirely after the Liam Smith fight(a guy that even British boxing fans had no clue about)Oscar will have find one or maybe two middleweights that present no threat to Canelo and I'm ok with that if they're tune ups to face GGG,that said will his fans be ok with that and how can they sell em as pay per views?

GGG on the other hand has two of the biggest fights of his career as it doesn't look like Jacobs is gonna give away his belt,I expect Golovkin to box against Jacobs instead of what we saw against Brook,it's like GGG made a drama show out of it for four rounds and then in the 5th round he just upped his gears and finished it when he wanted, scary thought indeed?

GGG needs to move up or down and seek challenges instead of waiting for lower tier and lower weight fighters to move to his weight.

It is pointless GGG going up and down weight divisions for 12 months while he waits for Canelo. Better he stays at 160 pounds, continues the clean out and goes into the Canelo fight undefeated and a firm favourite.

It should be 50/50 split as neither of these guys are a draw. They both need each other. Neither will get a pay day like this w/o the other. Even if they fight, it's questionable if it will sell well. The casuals have turned fickle to boxing and PPV. They were just burned to hell with Fluid/Pac. Ever since that fight PPV has been in free fall.

    Great post mate.

I agree entirely with everything you've written.

Things could look a lot different in the next 6-12 months.

    EVERYTHING is a factor.

If GG has every MW belt by next year, that will make a difference in the negotiations.

Oscar knows that which is why he wants him to sign now.

    You're in for a shock.

    Go on any online forum.

Go on any social media discussion page.

    Read any boxing magazine.

GG's popularity is continuously on the rise.

It looks as though Jacobs is next. Then hopefully BJS back in the U.K.

Canelo will be out until May. That's 8 months sat on the sidelines out of the spotlight. And when he comes back he'll only be fighting a low level guy to test the waters.

If they can meet next September, GG may own every MW belt.

Canelo's rep has taken a huge hit, his PPV's have taken a hit, and he will be under immense pressure to fight GG next year.

Canelo doesn't need the MW belts. He already has the Lineal which is the highest accolade.

If GGG wants to be lineal he will need to beat Canelo. GGG needs Canelo.
