Haye will fight one of the brothers when he wants to retire. His gameplan appears to be:

1) Milk the British public for everything he can.
2) Work out when he wants his last fight.
3) Finally stop stalling; fight Wladimir and get the living **** stomped out of him for a pile of cash.
4) Retire.

Rephrase the question "Is Haye scared to fight a Klit?" with "Does Haye think he can beat a Klit?" which is, in many ways, the same thing.

The answer is clearly "No." You think Haye is making good money now? Imagine is he was the undisputed king of the Heavy division. He would be earning 4 times as much per fight.
He has had the chance to do this. He has not taken it. Why is he turning down this opportunity? Because his own assessment is that he would lose.

Then look at the question "Is Haye scared to fight a Klit?" again, from a different angle. A lot of people think it means "Is Haye scared of being beaten up and hurt?" of course it can mean other things.

For example, if Haye is scared of a loss, not because of being hurt, but because of the impact it would have on his earnings, then he is still scared.

So, if by being scared you mean he doesn't think he can win, then yes, Haye is scared. If by scared you mean he is afraid of the consequences, then yes, he is scared.
If by scared, you mean afraid of being hurt? Well, I think this is always on a boxer's mind, but they tend to be able to overcome it. That's their job after all.
If there was a situation where that fear would become difficult to handle, then this would be it. He has pissed off some guys who are literally a class above him, bigger, stronger, much more skillful, and who now want to see him suffer. He knows they will beat him, and he knows that they will want to make it nasty. In all of boxing, there would be no two people who would be worse to **** off, or who could do more damage.
But every pro boxer has taken whoopings before, whether in the amateurs or in the gym when they first started, or in sparring or whenever. I think he will get in the ring, but he will be very intimidated, no matter how much he acts like he isn't.

By any reasonable definition he is scared, and yes he is ducking. Being willing to take one final beating before he retires doesn't change those facts; rather it proves them.

Yeah, I meant next year I think we see a Klitschko-Haye fight not this year. I'm certain Haye knows he's the underdog against either brother so thats one reason why he's not rushing to face one of them. He can make good money beating up lesser fighters right now and if he loses to one of the brothers that could change.

But I see the combination of Haye's upsetting the Klitschko's and his reluctance to fight them as a bit of a negotiating ploy. The brothers want to fight him bad enough that they are willing to concede benefits to him during negotiating. Its becoming personal for them but I don't think its quite as personal to Haye. But both Klitschko's want to face him bad enough that they will give up more in negotiations just to fight him. I'm sure if you compare the offers that Haye was getting 2 years ago to face either brother with the offer he's getting now you'll see he's improved his standing.

Maybe he's just scared and has no intention of fighting either guy, I don't know Haye so I don't know. But I see it more about money for Haye and his stalling is more negotiating than being afraid.
