Given the number of UK fighters doing the rounds, there is no reason why he couldn't build on the momentum and build his profile after beating Chisora who was Top 10 in the Rankings. Instead he fought Rovcanin and Kevin Johnson
In 2017? He was the 3rd guy to beat Chisora in 5 fights after Pulev and Whyte. They were both in the top 10 and theres like 7 top 10s so guess its possible Chisora was in 1 or 2 of them. But I don't think narrowly beating Chisora really moved the needle for him.
Kabayel had opportunities and didn't take them. When you are not from UK or US with a strong promotion behind you, you have to do it the hard way and take what fights you can for relatively less money. Kabayel preferred to fight infrequently against lesser opposition where he was the A side instead. At least until Saudi money got involved. Guys like Parker have taken what fights that can, taken risks and been the B side regularly. He gave money to guys like Arum just to secure a title shot, thats just how the game works.
Watching all those 70s and 90s fights a lot of fighters were very skilled at body punches. Only Kabayel can compare with fighters from those eras right now.
They have their strengths and weaknesses, Kabayel is better at finishing opponents and punch selection especially up close, Parker is the better boxer at range, it may not be as good to watch, but I think I’d pick Parker right now.
