Did anyone else notice the similarity in these two fights? Zab and Kahn got out on top with boxing skill and the Argentines roared back with power and determination to have their opponents staggering for the final bell.
That fight cost me quite a bit of money. It really pissed me off when i heard the scores. I thought Matthyse won it clearly.
No that isn't being fair. The Khan-Maidana fight was fought with way more intensity and at a much higher level of focus. It isn't that Khan-Maidana are so much more talented than Zab-Mathyeese (well maidana is more talented than Mathyseese). What I think the difference was is both Khan and Maidana took not only this fight seriously, but they have respect for themselves and the sport. Zab is the kinda of guy that isn't conditioned, doesn't take the sport seriously. He would never be able to stand up to what Khan just did. The Khan-Maidana fight was a good fight between two pretty good fighters. They aren't world beaters and they never will be. But they are pretty good professional fighters.
Khan and Maidana put on a show. Judah got a lucky decision in fight that was more the fault of Lucas following his corner's rotten advice than anything great Zab did. Judah would get schooled by Khan and let us all enjoy Zab's chicken dance if he got in with Maidana.
"OMG" are you a ten year old girl? There's no similarity at all? One guy was a boxer who won all the early rounds boxing and the other guy walked him down and started landing punches as the boxer began to run out of gas. I'm not necessarily saying Zab and Mathysse are on the same level as Kahn-Maidana, but there were numerous similarities in the two fights.
There are no similarities, Judah fought for the first few rounds but he never dominated, from the 7th on it was all Matthyse. He won 117-110 on my scorecard, so I don't think there are similarities at all. Khan really dominated the first half of the fight, Judah-Matthyse was even at the first half, that's why there are no similarities at all. Matthyse schooled Judah, Khan was on his way to school Maidana, but fell short of it.
