I thought he won both closely with more daylight between himself and Graham than himself and McCallum, though I've never had any gripe with anyone who thought that McCallum deserved the decision seeing how close it was. I think it's on youtube somewhere.

I thought I had an old copy of Kalambay-Kalule somewhere, but I'm either dreaming or I've misplaced it because I can't find the fecking thing anywhere. I'm going to have to try and get hold of it from somewhere cos I vaguely remember it being a really good technical battle (and a pleasing showing from Kalule after he been killing himself making light middle for too long).

Mccallum just about deserved the rematch although I seem to recall Kalambay finished strongly. Never seen the Graham fight but the consensus at the time in britain was that Herol was slightly unlucky. Both guy's were considered a bit past their best at the time.

Kalambay was about as slick as any fighter I ever saw. His reflexes started diminishing by the 90's, although he was still in great physical shape, just not quite as sharp as he used to be.

Not much use if you don't speak Italian, but i bet old sumbu gave those two a demonstration of his trademark counter uppercut down the pipe after the show;).

Is the one with the blonde hair his missus? Looks like the same woman ringside in the McCallum fight.

For anybody who is interested and hasn't seen it, this is an interview that Kalambay did a few years ago. Quite interesting, even if his answers look as though they've been tinkered with by the interviewer so as not to resemble anything remotely like human dialogue. Did Bomber Graham ever pack out arenas?

Yes, I'm a McCallum admirer too. So, I hope you won't hold it against me when I psychically hulk-smash this thread for brother Mike.

    :D:rofl

Now that's an effective plan of attack if I ever saw one. **** left hooks to the ribcage.

''Sumbu, you're making me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.......''

And your avatar is quite spiffing if I do say so.

The rematch, despite both men being past their physical best, is as good a display of two-way technique as you're likely to find in modern Middleweight history. This first fight being one of the best examples of a one-way masterclass against a top notch opponent. Kalambay was a great fighter. No doubt about it.

Graham beat Kalambay in the rematch and Mccallum deserved the decision in the rematch as well.
