Sounds like Kali could meet Chagaev in Germany and the winner fight Haye or Ruiz for the WBA title (according to Internet article below from exalted fight source fijivillage.com). ...but believe it when you see it!! Meehan gets another chance fijivillage.com date/time: 22/02/2010 [11:49] After seven cancelled fights, two inactive years and one outrageous home town decision, Kali Meehan has finally been granted another shot at becoming the heavyweight champion of the world. Meehan's long awaited fight with Ruslan Chagaev will go ahead after the Uzbek boxer's management team, Universum, sent him a contract on Friday night. The fight is likely to be staged in Germany. Should Meehan prevail, the 39 year old will take on the winner of the David Haye John Ruiz bout for the WBA heavyweight title. The WBA has called for purse bids to take place on a series of fights including Meehan's in Panama today but the latest development ensures that he will have an opportunity to join fellow Australian Danny Green as a world champion.
Ruslan will box rings around Meehan who i expect will really suffer from inactivity... that said who knows how Chagaev will bounce back from the raping Wlad dealt him last year i expect a wide decision to Ruslan, fighting in Germany certainly doesn't help... Meehan needs a knock out straight up and Chagaev has a solid chin
He wont be coming in heavy,He has been training hard and also teaching well as he's two son's made there debuts on weekend and both had good victory's....
I hope i am wrong, but i get the feeling that Chageav will be far too good and score a comfortable KO victory.
Great to hear Ando. Just being sarcastic as it's been such a long wait for Kali. He put up such a great gutsy show against Brewster, and was probably robbed, but geez that was 5 1/2 years ago!
Better late than never. First Fijian world boxing champion coming up. Joy Ali should have been the first but Phil shot that one down.
I hope Meehan can win. I really became a fan of him when he really impressed me with his brillliant performance against Lamon Brewster.
Go Meehan!! I really hope he can pull this off. He seems like a nice bloke and boy does he have courage.
i see on another forum that meehan supposedly sued because he was dodged as mandatory for so long and was successful. anybody know about this?
Hate to say it , but Kali has been way too inactive to seriously challenge Chagaev. I hope I am soooooo wrong, everytime he has stepped up he has fallen short with the fight as Brewster as the exception where he was robbed.
