After watching that fight Quinn had with Liakhovich I'm thinking this fight could quite easily go either way.

    Brunker on big Aussie card
    Meehan, Dib also featured

By Ray Wheatley — World of Boxing

Australian featherweight champion Joel Brunker (15-0, 9 KOs) will clash with Indonesian Carlos Lopez (20-6, 7 KOs) over ten rounds with the vacant WBO Youth title up for grabs at the La Montage Reception Center, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on Thursday.

Brunker will start hot favorite and scored his best win in June when he delivered a knockout in seven rounds over tough Filipino Ernie Gonzalez. Lopez was stopped in his most recent trip to Australia by former IBO 130 pound champion Billy Dib in six rounds.

On the same show Billy Dib (27-1, 15 KOs) will be in action against Ceferino Garcia (19-1, 7 KOs) over eight rounds. Garcia’s only loss came at the hands of IBF 122 pound champion Steve Molitor.

Top of the bill will be Don King’s WBA #8 heavyweight Kali Meehan (35-4, 29 KOs) who will punch it out with Miami based Evans Quinn (18-4-1, 16 KOs) over twelve rounds for the IBF Pan Pacific title.

Quinn at 27 years and 6.3″ , 220lbs, will have leading Australian trainer Tony Nobbs working his corner and is coming off a loss to former WBO heavyweight champion Siarhei Liakhovich in nine rounds in May bout in Germany. Meehan, 6.5″, 230 lbs, recently dropped a twelve round decision to former WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev also in May in Germany.

“I am in good shape for this fight and expect a good fight against Evans Quinn who gave former world champion Liakhovich a good fight,” said Meehan. ” I want to thank the promoters Bill Teacy and Garrie Francisio from the Grange Gym for giving me this fight and bringing a credible opponent from the USA to test me.” Televised throughout Australia on Foxtel Cable Televsion Network.

12 rounds with quinn before chagaev probably gets meehan a win over ruslan. cause he didn't look too flash considering meehan hadn't fought for two years.

it is history now but hopefully kali can impress in this fight.

i don't see any reason why he wouldn't be. if i was facing someone that has ko power like meehan i'd turn up in as good a shape as possible.
