Kali Meehan vs Michael Kirby

Exactly, somepeople want to see some one virtually dead on the canvas before they think its a fair stoppage.

 

Is he going to do the reverse pioneer and go from boxing to NRL

 

the punch to the back of the head may not have been completely legal, but the 3 punches on the chin that made him turn his back where legal punches, so do you award the man for turning his back and taking a punch in the back of the head, or do you award the man doing the damage, it is a fight after all.

 

The 3 or 4 legal punches were great and sweet....and they sent Kirby into the ropes....dont mean Meehan can finish him with a shot to the back of head

 

One minute down.. Two minutes left. The fight may have lasted another 30 seconds.. Damage would have been done. Kirby was WAY out of his league.
Thankfully the ref saw it. The matchmaker needs to reacess. As does the lame WannaByaFuckingtitle.

 

I think we all get your point. Just out of interest had it been the exact same scenario but say it was Oliver Mcall what would you do?

 

the punch was actually more around the back of the ear, but if a fighter turns his back and the ref isnt in there to stop them, then too bad. You take shot where ever they land. Turning your back isnt a form of defence. Too me its say, i dont wanna fight anymore. So therefor it was a fair stopage.
I dont know anyone from either team, so this is an unbias opinion, i just say it how i saw it.

He was well and truely finished before that last punches grazed the back of his head because he turned his back, that last punch wasnt the finisher..

 

Number 1 Meehan landed 3 or 4 sweet shots that had Kirby on ***** street and sent him into the ropes

Number 2 Meehan could have thrown several different shots to finish him off save back of the head shots

Number 3 ref should have cautioned Meehan for the illegal shot and given Kirby a minute to recover

Number 4 if Meehan kept landing sweet shots then wave it off

Next your going to tell me back of the head shots are ok if a fighter is on top :-(

 

The ref should be there and respect will stop cheap shots from the likes of Kali Meehan. I enjoyed the fight and look forward to an even matched Australia heavyweight title.

 

Watch the video again mate...Kirby doesn't turn his head at all...he gets rocked by an uppercut and then another glancing shot sent him into the ropes...Meehan then hit him in the back of the head :deal

Yes the 3 or 4 clean shots hurt him but didnt finish him....the back of the head shot did :deal

On another note...the ref should have given Kirby a count under the rule if the ropes werent there he would have gone down
