Yeah I thought the stoppage was too early aswell. Meehan had him hurt them lands bombs several times to the back of Kirby's head (yes I know Kirby was turned away from Meehan). Terrible referee imo. Hopeless.

maybe u should watch it again.

it was ONE shot. the second landed on the side of the jaw.

u just need to watch the punches as well to get a better idea of how kirby was affected imo. and the guy was clearly UNABLE to protect himself.

Yes true...Meehan only landed 1 clean shot at the back of the head...the other missed and hit his jaw....very careless IMO

i think the stoppage was fair, kirby turned his back because he was hurt, he wasnt protecting himself. He was hurt before he was hit in the back off the head. And when the ref stopped the fight, kirby then stumbled across the ring, didnt know where he was. If the ref didnt stop it right then, kirby would have been knocked cold, lucky for kirby it was stopped.

Yes he was hurt no doubt and he staggered into the ropes before the hit to the back of the head....but tell me...is the hit to the back of the head illegal?

And if it is....the fight should have paused for a caution against meehan :deal

End of the day it's better it didnt because it would have been more of the same so Kirby was saved from more damage...never the less...it still should have been a caution IMO

Just for the record a caution and pause wouldn't have changed the result...Meehan was great :good

I think listenin' to Kirby post fight put any doubt to rest...he knew he blew it...he wasn't blamin' anyone...he just knew he should've tryed somethin' else instead of just wadin' in..

The shots landed when Kirby was turned looked moore around the ear no where near the back of the head, Kirbys legs were gone when the ref stepped in, if the ref seperated them then let it go on Kirby would of been splattered.

Perfect decision by a great referee.

It's a pity the match maker didn't have the same sense.

Good mate by the sounds. It wasnt the worst stoppage i've seen but back of the head = illegal punch, no? Those that think the second one was his ear then your blind. And it's irrelevant if you think kirby was out his depth, given the chance he could have continued, simple.

    No, I'm not Andersons mate.

If Kirby is in a position where he's not able to defend himself, is flailing over the ropes and appears well and truly on ***** street, then STOP the ****ing fight.

Quit sulking about blows to the back of his head. Damage was well and truly done beforehand.

Sure.... had Chris Anderson forced Meehan to a nuetral corner and given time to Kirby to re-coup, the YES, Kirby would have been able to continue on..... until KNOCKED ****ING COLD or damaged severely.

The fight was a ****ing mismatch of damaging proportions. Are you ****ing idiots seriously stupid????
