[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pxb1Efdzhcs[/ame] Pow! Look at that knock out, thats lights out time there. And don't forget Meehans epic battle with Lamon Brewster. Ruslan Chagev White Tyson is very good as well. I and a lot of other fans would like to see David Haye fight the winner of this match up next. Who wins Meehan vs Chagaev?
Very easy, Chagaev! Meehan has been out of the ring nearly 2 years working roadside construction. He looks in decent shape from what I saw at the press workout but he's gonna be very rusty. His last notable win was that vid, against Davaryyl "Touch of ****" Williamson, 2 1/2 years ago, that fight was only 6 rounds and he was totally gassed when he landed that hail mary shot. The Brewster fight was 2004, and yes he deserved the win....but those days are long gone for Kali. Besides he hasn't faced a southpaw in a very very long time, if ever. Chagaev will be a little rusty also, but aside from size...he has every advantage in the fight skill wise. Hopefully he's not too gun shy from his only defeat last time out. Chagaev UD
Well, I would give the punching power edge to Meehan as well. This fight is size and power vs speed and skills at very high level! With the winner getting an opportunity to fight for the Heavyweight Championship of the World.
You mean the WBA Heavyweight title. The Heavyweight Championship of the world is held by Wladimir Klitschko, who defeated the real WBA Heavyweight Champion already.
Chagaev should win, but he wouldn't be the first fighter who was ruined by Wlad. Chagaev knows that he can never be the best HW in the world as long as Wlad is around and that must do some real damage to his psyche.
I am rooting for Chagaev here, not because he's such an unnaturally skilled boxer, he's a good southpaw but simply because Don King and Valuev robbed him with that Helsinki story and he deserves another shot at the belt.
Meehans trainer said Kali is in the best shape of his life and that the preperation has been 100% Meehan has had lots of quality sparring and they expect to win come fight night. This statement was between 2 trainers and not a media hype statement.
What does Meehan have to look for in that fight anyway? I know it's the WBA, but how can even they sell the fact a guy who's been out of the ring for close to 2 years deserves to be in an eliminator fight? He's just beïng fed to Chagaev, who I think wins by UD or late stoppage.
