Question: You also have a stake in David Haye. What's new with him?

Kalle Sauerland: David is keen on fighting one of the Klitschko brothers. But the devil lies in the financial details. There are multiple parties with a financial interest/stake in Haye's fights, we're just one of those parties. Haye has become a national superstar in the UK and thus the conditions have changed. Haye earns as much money in the UK as the Klitschkos earn in Germany, therefore that makes reaching a deal much more difficult. We have to insist on a sensible financial agreement.

Question: K2's Bernd Bönte was on record recently that the disagreement was not based on the financials but on other issues.

Kalle Sauerland: We disagree with that notion. Haye wanted to box for the title immediately, he wants the big fights immediately. He knows about his talent and potential, he was the undisputed cruiserweight champion. So far there has been a disagreement regarding the financial issues. Haye is ready to fight any time.

    props to Madballster for translation

When everyone was having a go at Haye, my stance always remained that they should until we've heard from both sides. The media ban was suspicious and I thought it would be used to slander Haye, which it was. Now we've heard from both sides and it seems clear that the issue lies with the promoters, not Haye. The only person who wanted Harrison, for example, was Schaeffer and you had half the forum calling Haye a coward because he wanted it, which he didn't.

It sounds like the amount of people interested in Haye, will affect his career. When it was just him and Booth, they were fine. I can see problems arising because of GBP and Sauerland, who would prefer to milk Haye's ability to draw, rather than see him against the Klitschko's.

I'm confident it will happen though. I said people should wait and they look ridiculous now.

Good post again as ever Rob.

I must admit when the talks stalled I initally blaimed Haye. As a fan I was deeply frustrated and upset that he had seemingly let us down by ducking the best after calling them out.

But it shows you that you need to listen to both sides!

"Haye has become a national superstar in the UK and thus the conditions have changed..."

Yes, Haye's MENTAL condition has changed. With his new-found reaches and fame he's clearly shifted into defensive, self-preserving psychic mode. Tabloid mentality of the British society has elevated him far too high and way too quickly and he wasn't able to make necessary mental adjustments to remain a BOXER he once was.

Äh - no. Until now, Haye looks ridiculous. He's the one who ran his mouth. He will look ridiculous until the fight happens. It doesn't matter if he's afraid (I don't think he is) or "a clever business man" because he doesn't want to share his purse with Sauerland etc.

Yeah, that's right. As was Booth and Haye's promoters. Obviously Wlad and his manager weren't though.

Technically, the ban is still in place but as negotiations have cooled, we are hearing from Haye's team.

You have to ask why they did that though. I think it was to slander Haye and get enough heat on him so he would be forced into accepting another bad deal, because of the the fans opinion of him. Obviously that worked because a lot were accusing him of being a coward. It's sad that they resorted to these cheap tactics. Wlad is one of my favourite fighters but these tactics are as disgraceful as Mayweather's, when he accused Pacquiao of being on PED's. It's shameless.

Actually the situation you describe that the Klitschko's are doing with Haye in regards to negotiations is the same as what Arum is doing currently with Mayweather.

You're an idiot. Who the heck believes anything Saurland says? Only a fool!

More to the point if Haye allowed Saurland / Don King to get stakes in him and PREVENT a Klit fight he's a moron no discussion since he blabbed about wanting to fight Wlad.
