Morrison outclasses and out-speeds him in the first few rounds and closes the show before the bell ending the fifth. The Duke is just too explosive and the hand speed differential would be both obvious and telling. Kallie was a tough guy with a good punch but I think Morrison is a couple levels higher in class. I guess you can never rule out Knoetze landing one big punch to end it in his favor but I don’t see it happening.
TBH I favour Morrison here since he seems the better boxer. He has all the tools to out box KK. Knoetze was actually pretty useful early on in his career but then started to rely on his ruggedness and overhand / uppercut sequence. Tommy won't want to mix it up with Knoetze but rather box clever and pick him apart. For sure KK has the power to utterly wreck TM if he lands right, and it's Morrison's job to make sure he takes him apart without letting that happen. Knoetze was a mauler so no wrestling for Tommy. KK had a potential to gas out as well once he started loading up on everything. Agreed though if someone runs out of steam it’s probably Tommy. Knoetze is very crude style wise. If Morrison stays away like his effort against Foreman she should be ok. He might even win a slugging match, but why play to Kallie’s strengths? I would slightly favour Tommy, but not by much. I think best-case scenario for Kallie is he puts on a performance akin to Joe Hipp’s and loses a rough and rugged decision. Worst-case, he gets his ears boxed off and then Tommy Gunn unloads the big guns to end him after five. Knoetze could punch but the problem here in part is that he, as noted, also had a problem with gassing. So it’s not like ‘weather the storm and take it up a notch when Morrison starts to huff and puff,’ because Kallie would be sucking as much oxygen out of the room as Tommy (if not more). Morrison ain’t no Duane Bobick, that’s for sure. And Knoetze isn’t Lennox Lewis or Ray Mercer. Morrison KO 7.
Kallie could could hit and so could Morrison, Tommys chin was suspect, but his defense was decent until he got reckless. I had high expectations for Kallie but he fizzles out in the Big John Tate fight. This fight could go either way.
Depends on where the bout takes place. Do not see Tommy being a successful road warrior at all. Different outcome if he fights in the U.S. Winner, or loser for that matter, takes on another backyard fighter--Bruno.
