I didn't even know about the kameda IBF belt situation. Pretty sure they'll find some smart construction to keep fighting and keep a lot of control over the promotion anyway. It also seems like the IBF is trying to keep up with all the crap the WBA and WBC are pulling lately because otherwise they might get taken seriously. Selective beltholders with the IBF are allowed to lose and/or cheat, and still keep their belts lately.
This was actually by the book in regards to IBF rules, Solis missed weight. Problem is that the Kamedas said if Daiki lost he'd lose his belt, their own rules state other wise.
Strong rumour Koki will retire and the other 2 will then move to "K3 gym" or they will go to Mexico. Lots of speculation little in terms of clarity, sadly.
I don't see what went wrong here. Solis failed to make weight... He can't win the belt and while I realize that often the title of the guy that lost but made weight becomes vacant, shouldn't that be the IBF's decision? I thought Japan recently held meetings with the IBF and WBO to allow their belts to be sanctioned and fought for by Japanese fighters when previously they were not.
The problem is that they told everyone "if Daiki loses he loses the title"had they corrected themselves and admitted before the fight that that wasnt the case there would likely be no problem
