(by request from @UnleashtheFURY) His record? 7-15-2 (3). Yeah, alright laugh it up. Now look at his opponents' combined record: 237-20-1. Right then, bit different than your average scrub, innit? Sok has fought, all told, fourteen unbeaten prospects. That is nearly ⅔ of his pro bouts. In those, he is 4-10 as of yesterday (defeating a 10-0 bloke from Merseyside), and has only ever been stopped by a pair of them: Dillian Whyte, and Nathan Gorman. He went the distance with David Price, Martin Bakole Ilunga, Lucas Browne, Sean Turner (a win), Gorman in a rematch, Sam Sexton, Gary Cornish and Kash Ali. Probably his best result to date, aside from maybe the upset over Sean "Big Sexy" Turner, was fucking up Nick Webb last winter even faster than Dave "White Rhino" Allen had done: This content is protected Here's another he was "supposed to lose", against 5-0 super heavy Naylor Ball of Berkshire, giving up half a foot in height and lord even knows how much reach. The bigger they are, the harder they fall: This content is protected Born & raised in Częstochowa, he is raising a considerable profile in the UK, where there is a culture of appreciation for stiff upper lipped journeymen who "fancy the job" in boxing. I'd be very interested to see him in with Allen, in fact - and boxing Twitter (especially the corners of it concerned with the British heavyweight scene) would eat that shit up. He isn't fast; he isn't agile; he isn't explosive. He is, however, a patient, calm and diligent worker. He stays reasonably fit year-round, and he fights three minutes of every round, and he doesn't let taking a few resoundingly heavy shots discourage him. Thus, a few performances yielding upsets and even more of the "earned fans even in defeat" variety. That's how you get a 7-15-2 fighter with a fan base.
I totally missed the Browne fight but it sounds like it may have been a robbery. 57-56 in a 6 rounder with Browne having gone down? Also was a ref decision. The Price fight could have easily could have been a draw and almost certainly would have gone the Poles way had it been scheduled for longer. Totally awesome come to win journeyman. Not an easy out for the vast majority of the division.
Yep. Seen it said on YouTube, Twitter and even Bn24. Sounds like he got shafted badly https://www.boxingnews24.com/2019/03/lucas-browne-decisions-kamil-sokolowski-results/
A true legend of the sport. Wonder how far he could go if he had a promoter behind him. It's a shame that his record probably works against him as promoters probably would rather stay away from him as a result.
He was probably a bit unlucky in the Bennett fight aswell. Just checked that out on the tube and that could have easily gone to him. Perhaps he should be on a 4 fight winning streak.
He ain't no slouch in those departments. He also has good vision and striking ability once he finds his target. Great finishing instincts, swift, dangerous, cunning, almost like some sort of predatory bird, like...a Falcon! Yes a Falcon. He should use that as his nickname it would really suit him! Reminds me a little of fellow powerhouses Denis Bakhtov and Vadim Tokarev. P.S. It's pronounced Sokolo This content is protected sky. (commentator driving me nuts)
I did wonder what happened to Naylor ball, I remember them bigging him up because he’s a cousin of the fury’s
He also faced David Price in a 6 rounder back in Dec 2017, and if that had been another 2-3 rounds he would have got the knock out. Price was unravelling at points in the fight, turning his back on Kamil and running away on 2 ocassions. He was glad to see the end of the 6 rounds. I would love to see a rematch over 10 rounds between those two, because I think Kamil gets to him. Also the Allen fight would be good matchmaking.
Yeah Browne fight was a robbery and if his fight against price was an 8 rounder not a 6 rounder he would of won that as well.
Seems like the kind of guy a contender would want around for sparring. Durable, seen alot of different looks, doesn't hit too hard or go too aggressive.
Boxing needs guys like Kamil, another strange case was Zach Page. Awful record at first glance, but he was a CW pretending to be a HW and fought them all and usually gave them a hard time.
