Masao Ohaba vs Orlando Amores- Great drama, real brutal finish. 1972 the eternal champion defends his strap only about six months from an unforeseen sadness this would be his third last fight. I invite you all to watch what is out there the 23 year old just about could have been one of the best ever.

I had Castro winning big in this fight 8 rounds up with 4 for Galaxy. This fight was an outright robbery but it was highly entertaining they both came to go to war and neither hesitated to turn it into a shoot out.

8-0 Moon defending his strap. This is what I was lead to believe Marciano fought like-A non stop aggressive fighter who walks through shots with an uncrackable chin and a wild abandon for his own safety throwing endless power shots... While he didn't Moon certainly did and in this one he just beat his man into a mercy stoppage.

Really good fight. There was action throughout with a surprise or two along the way. Thank you for posting.

He Sanchez and Pancho Villa are among the top P4P talents that could’ve been so much more. I pray you get the chance to appreciate this Japanese legend.

    great post, man!

Marciano is misunderstood. I am with you on believing what people were saying about him. I've learned only idiots repeat what they have heard. Anyone who watches Marciano on film sees he was well gifted as an athlete and well coordinated. If anything, what troubled his opponents most was his head movement.

I would say Moon fought opponents who were generally less athletic and refined. Also, a punch from someone weighing 110 pounds has less impact than from someone weighing 190lbs. But Moon was a savage and should be recognized for his greatness.

I really appreciate that you like the lower-weight fighters. They're oddly neglected. So much talent and violence. It's what Boxing is all about. Too many people here seem to forget we are here to discuss Boxing. You bring it back to center.

While not exactly prime he was 29-30 he turned pro at about 24 and his career reflected his long amateur success he was moved along very quickly and fed to the better of the Galaxy brothers at about his 5th or 6th pro fight. He faced a murderers row of Flys and was a habitual warrior so I think there was wear to some capacity but he didn’t look much worse from the Moon of the prime days.

He was much harder to hit then people give Rocky credit for. Excellent at what he does Goldmans masterpiece.

I’d say Moon faced some dangerous, dangerous competition for his level of pro experience and did enough to be called an ATG. Moon himself though was immensely athletic if you look into his background.

While a 190lbs man punch is different I think it’s relative the way Moon took punches It was insulting to his opponent, freaky almost.

Thank you for your kind words. I just appreciate activity and skill most of all and the talent down stairs is absolutely stupendous.
